By the pic I thought ehh, lots of people have a lazy eye and get it fixed, but poor little mite looks like a malfunctioning animatronic.
 
Gideon has had strabismus since birth. KayJon have been patching it and Gideon has been wearing glasses since he was very tiny. So at least they're following medical advice for this issue. If he has any other fine motor issues due to his premature birth, it does seem like KayJon would follow medical advice to get their kid assistance.

It's a major benefit that Kaylee hasn't gotten pregnant again, because then they can focus solely on getting Gideon safely into his childhood.

He makes goofy faces which the family clearly encourages, and the eye issues are documented, but if you watch the full video he looks pretty normal when not being fed.

As a child with an Orthodox Christian parent I saw this movie Pollyanna and was completely freaked out by a scene where they go to church.
The movie isn't about religion. This scene just happens to to take place in a church, but I had never seen a Protestant service or been told what they believe. The behaviour of the priest, the fucking bronze age shoutbox he stands on, and the weird wooden cottage look of the building all make for a gestalt that has more in common with scary undercover footage of scientology than anything resembling a bunch of Jesus-lovers joining together in prayer. As soon as the priest appeared (SHOUTING a bunch of nonsense at everyone), I talked over the whole scene asking mum "who is that guy? why is he yelling? why is he being so mean? why is he scary? is he a judge? the church looks weird" and probably ruined the moviegoing experience for a lot of people.
I can see how redditors, the majority of whom are american anglophones, have such a weird view of christianity.

Anyway, everybody needs to lay off Gideon because he's clearly a future Kiwi Farmer based on the level of disabled that he is.

The whole thing with the reverend in Pollyanna was that he was a deliberately exaggerated caricature of hardcore 19th century fire and brimstone clergymen all so that the obnoxiously sunny heroine can turn him into a regular low-key nice pastor like you usually encounter in real life.

He was also gestated and born during the Plexus era, so I assume he had at least as much exposure as Janessa. Per her posts, Jill had both pregnant daughters drinking it. Nurie’s kids weren’t premature (as far as we know) but they all have kind of a weird look about them too. I guess we’ll see in 10-15y if they’re just woefully undereducated or genuinely brain damaged.
