Our judicial system is corrupted by the liberal elites. It no longer serves the common people.

It's been that way for .....decades.

I've probably mentioned it before, but Bruce Pardy, a based law prof from Queens who supported the Freedom Convoy and is now on the Alberta Separatism train, talks about one of the first ever cases to test PET's new 1982 Charter of Rights back in the 80s.

The Supreme Court case surrounded the RCMP and qualifying for full pensions. Essentially, there was an entirely voluntary program where Mounties could choose to either work FT or PT. More women chose PT service.

When pension time came, more men than women qualified for the full pension. Lady cops brought a case before the court stating that their completely voluntary choice to work less, and thus to in the end get less, was discriminatory.

The SCC essentially used the nascent Charter to rule that the simple fact that their were unequal outcomes by sex was in itself a Charter violation. Even without any evidence of sex-based systemic discrimination. And that the women voluntarily chose to not put in the time of their own volition.

One of the first Charter cases determined that equality of outcome was the law of the land & basis of the Charter, not equality of opportunity.

I've heard Pardy discuss the case as an example that it doesn't really matter what's written on parchment. The corrupt liberal apparatchiks can simply interpret legislation & case law however they feel by Current Year orthodoxy.

They gloss over it in the CTV piece, but for those that don't remember what happened the last time Lizzie stepped down.
I kind of fucking love the Canadian Green Party. They keep campaigning as if they're a real party and throwing a raver every election when they win a single seat. Despite existing for over 40 years they've never managed to get more than 6.7% of the popular vote, and even then, it was in 2008, an election with record low voter turnout. Elizabeth May has been the face of the party for like twenty years now, and the whole debacle with Annamie Paul shows that people literally have no fucking idea what the party is even supposed to be without her at the helm.

Their candidates are all over the goddamn place politically, ranging from your basic hippie granola aunt types to straight up ecosocialists depending on the riding. They'll basicaly just run anyone who shows up for the role so they can say they have a full field of candidates. There's no cohesive idea or ideology really uniting all of its members, other than "the environment :)"

They're really entertaining to read about considering they just fuck their shit up all the time. It's kind of like an entire lolcow political party.

Here's a lawyer talking about that dude who got arrested for stabbing the dude who broke into his house. He is a defence lawyer who has fought for gun rights and self-defence rights for a long time in Canada so he's one of the few good ones.

I did like the bit where Premier Smith was asked about the charges and she said "if you don't want to get stabbed I'd suggest you not break into people's homes". That's a pretty refreshing take from a Canadian politician.

The Green Party is basically the dumping ground for everyone that even the Libs and NDP think are too fucking crazy to consider letting them be associated with the party, and it’s led to hilarity.

So many potential lolcows in one place, it’s almost worth throwing a vote away on them (look I live west of Ontario, my vote doesn’t matter for shit Federally) just to see how it plays out.

At this point it's the Elizabeth May Party, even if she follows through on actually quitting this time she'll find some reason or another to worm back into the leadership within the next few years

They've had more success than the PPCs in actually winning seats since its creation with similar popular vote counts.

In the OG CTV article that started the Green Party discussion, it was mentioned that they had over 300 nominated candidates in April but only ran 240 or so because their last minute selections had trouble securing the 100 signatures to actually get on the ballot. I suppose some of these failed-to-start placeholders may have also been paper candidates where obtaining 100 signatures is a little more difficult if you don't even live in the riding (or province).

It's impressive that the Greens have managed to secure wins at various times on Vancouver Island, in Kitchener, ON, & New Brunswick. Even if their proportion of the popular vote has plummeted in the same pattern as the PPCs as the fake & ghey Axe the Tax v. Elbows Up two-party race developed.

That being said, it's still a cult of personality built around an out-of-touch dinosaur in LIzzie May who is a few generations past due.

I don't think even your average political junkie could pick out past MPs Paul Manly, Jenica Atwin or Mike Morrice out of a police lineup.

Mike Morrice who won Kitchener Centre in Ontario is a mildly interesting story. He won in 2021 after the incumbent jeet incumbent Raj Saini was forced to withdraw close to the deadline after allegations emerged that he demanded bobs & vagene from his staffers.

Morrice looks like your average middle-aged Redditor. He lost the seat in April to a Conservative for a rare Poilievre Ontario gain.

In 2021, the Liberal jeet Saini pulled out of the race for sexual harassment allegations in his office, but remained on the ballot. Horrifyingly, he still got close to 9k votes despite the sexual misconduct allegations, being Liberal, not campaigning, not actually being an electable candidate, etc. Voters really are morons.

Morrice was actually a serious candidate though to my surprise even before the serendipity of the incumbent Liberal jeet getting yeeted. In 2019, he finished fourth second, but still with really strong support & something like 20 26% of the vote in a tight 4-way 3-way race that's essentially non-existent in the FPTP system.

The Supreme Court ruled years ago that Canadians do not have a right to self-defense or the defense of their home or property if it involves physical force in any way, and police are not allowed any discretion when it comes to pressing charges.

Blame Pierre Trudeau for it.
The entire dilemma we face today can be traced back to Trudeau family.
