So Trump can exercise a large amount of power over DC because he's head of the Federal government, he can't do that to any other city. Well, at least legally. We are in clown world so I make no bets anymore.
I might be able to see something if cities start trying to persist for far too long with their sanctuary city crap, but that's tangential and comes down to these cities impeding valid federal authorities in ICE and not having the stones to ACTUALLY fight for it.

Exactly. A threat to do what they've already done isn't really much of a threat. Some kind of 'gerrymander war' can only benefit the Republicans, who have for decades been losing with dignity. Now that that they are finally being dragged into the realization that adhering to gentlemen's agreements is a losing position when you face cheaters that want you dead actually headway can be made.

Its a bit late a dollar short, but hopefully just the beginning. As Teddy said, the best time was then, the second best time is now.
Gentlemens' agreements are voided when one of the gentlemen turns out to be a scoundrel.

In the end I think Newsome and by extension the Democrats will lose the re-redistricting war just because the Democrats are really only present in the urban bug hives and there are only so many way you can slice up those cities while the GoP has the rest of the state.

If, big if, all the red states follow Texas's lead and go ahead with their own redistricting bills it looks like it will end up a win for the GoP as they will come out with +5 seats over the Dems.

The biggest issue for the Dems is that most Dem heavy states are, not surprisingly, already very heavily gerrymandered so aside from Commiefornia and maybe Maryland there are not a lot more seats to squeeze out. While the Blue states have considerable room to push out more red districts and add to the GoP totals.

The truth is the Dem's already went ahead in the 90's and did the gerrymander thing so they have very little room left to get more blue blood out of that stone.
California is set to lose at least 4 seats after the 2030 census anyway due to all the people who have moved away, a lot more if illegals aren't counted.

If God is just the DOGE boys are gonna write a tool to find Indians that lied on their forms (all of them).

Comedy Option: Revoke all of them.

Put me in coach, I'll do it for free!
They can start with any Ukrainian draft-dodgers in the US. You don't get to come here to avoid fighting in a war you support and then demand we go fight in your place. Force the draft-dodgers to go back and we'll see how fast their tunes change about wanting peace.

Unironically this. With them gone, it gives the illegals less cover to hide and blend in with to escape ICE. Deport everyone, revoke everything, close all the borders until everything is sorted. Should only take a few decades. We can make more Americans, its fun!

Speaking of immigration, New York Times reports a decrease in the immigrant population for the first time in decades. Not the full article
Link, Archive
An analysis of census data by the Pew Research Center found that between January and June, the foreign-born population declined by nearly 1.5 million.

For the first time in decades, more immigrants are leaving the United States than arriving, a new study finds, an early indication that President Trump's hard-line immigration agenda is leading people to depart — whether through deportation or by choice.

An analysis of new census data released on Thursday by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center found that between January and June, the foreign-born population in the United States — both lawful and unlawful residents — declined by nearly 1.5 million. In June, the country was home to 51.9 million immigrants, down from 53.3 million six months earlier.

Officials from the Trump administration have applauded the net outflow, asserting that pressures on government services have eased and that job markets have rebounded. And some supporters of the immigration crackdown say it hasn't gone far enough.

But experts predict looming negative economic and demographic consequences for the United States if the trend persists. Immigrants are a critical work force in many sectors, and the country's reliance on them is growing as more baby boomers retire

Despite the study's findings, Kevin Lynn, executive director of the Institute for Sound Public Policy, which advocates for less immigration, said that foreign workers who enter lawfully continue to pour into the United States and undermine Americans.

Net migration — the difference between the number of immigrants arriving and departing — has turned negative, a shift that the chief Pew demographer, Jeffrey Passel, called a "demographic certainty" so far in 2025. His team's analysis did not calculate a separate number for undocumented immigrants, who seem likely to represent the largest number of departures, because heightened enforcement probably diminished immigrants' participation in the census survey that was used to make estimates, he said.

Whether negative net migration becomes a lasting phenomenon depends on how far the Trump administration goes to achieve its goals, experts say, but the Pew findings echo trends identified by other recent studies.

Immigrants taking up housing is a very small part of the problem and deporting more mexicans won't bring the price of housing down by itself.

The powers that be are incentivized to maintain shortage pressure because it raises the speculative value of every single politician's real-estate portfolio. They will keep you homeless as a matter of course for their own benefit.
55+ million people have to all live somewhere...

In other news, the state department is going to review all 55 million visa holders.

I'd be curious how many of the draft-dodgers are the ones that demanding we support them, though.
It seems more retarded liberals and legally emigrated, permanent resident Ukrainians who are the ones demanding we keep funding this war effort. I'd also be curious how many draft-dodgers we even have in the U.S. given how the Biden administration was cracking down so hard on keeping Ukrainian males in Ukraine so they could be sent to the slaughterhouse.

I saw that Ukraine's current population is 25 million (down from 38 million at the start of the war). So if they all fled, let's pad those numbers with 13 million poojeets. They can drive their trucks of peace right into the russian tanks!

One fun benefit of AI is a job like this 40 years ago would have been impossible to even make a dent in the stack. Now they can feed the entire data set of 55 million visas for it to flag inconsistencies a bored human auditor would easily miss.

I'd seriously consider that there must be some very high up people who watch MATI on a weekly basis.

If they're a Ukrainian citizen in the US cheering on the war they need to be sent back to Ukraine regardless of how they got here. Even dual-citizens. If you hold a Ukrainian passport, are of military age and demanding the war to continue you have to go back. I suspect we'll be seeing that happen in Europe pretty soon.

Ukraine hasn't done a census in like 30 years. Nobody has any idea what the population is or was.
