I've tried that, and I keep getting videos about Overwatch LPs and chink shit.

I've even come across a few of Doug and Strider's videos in the "related videos" section of a few videos I've watched. Just gonna say it now- YouTube's algorhythms are shit when it comes to figuring out people's tastes.
 
I know where you guys are coming from and I royally agree that I hate it when YT's algorithms recommend absolute BS like Mr. Enter and Phantomstrider to me. These fuckheads make me ashamed to like anything that's a cartoon - not even burying them under better YouTubers makes them go away, as much as I don't watch (nor want to watch) their filth.
 
Hmm so I saw the Strider video, and something just bothered me about him talking about the book Frollo and misusing the term Stockholm Syndrome. I know it's dumb to get annoyed about this type of video, but he seems to have this attitude that apparently it's "problematic" to like characters like the Joker or something.

Also lol at him finding Foodfight and Robotnik scary. And did he just made some weird semi-progressive rant in the HIM part?

And lol, he censored the hell titties with cartoon screencaps. Walker-sempai showed the boobs, boy, don't be such a pussy.

I'm just afraid someone like Strider will watch them then make a video complaining about them.

That and they share space with YouTubers cutting things with hot utensils and other clickbait.
 
So whatever happened to the Mati guy? He used to pop up everywhere in the early NC reviews, but one day all of a suddenl he was gone. Did Doug send him back to Bombay or something?

He was either fired or he left CA. There were rumors that there was sexual harassment involved but I can't verify that.

Well I know the character died. As for the actor, who knows.

Don't think Doug's ever come out about it, so it's possible it's something he doesn't want to talk about.

IIRC he fucked off to pursue his own career goals. I heard at one point he was working on a Master's Degree but I can't find evidence of that anywhere.

As for Doug not discussing it, he has that approach for everything. Regardless if it's a blatant controversy like Spoony or just a routine departure, he will say nothing about it. From what I've heard from people who've actually met him, the guy pretends the behind-the-scenes shit is really hush-hush and he responds to certain kinds of questions with "I'm not sure I can tell you that."

He left to pursue his own projects. Last I heard he was working on a project called Monkey Death Ray, but very little has come of that.
 

This week's NC was surprisingly more tolerable than usual. That could be from the lack of unfunny cringy skits.

...though to be fair his jokes by themselves are still unfunny and cringy.

Honestly, I'd rather track down the actual film to watch without NC talking over it, as if he knows what he's doing, which he doesn't, IMHO.

The movie itself looks, feels, and is clearly nothing special, but still comes off looking more entertaining than what Disney would have done with this, honestly.

Then again, this is NC I'm complaining about, so I'm not surprised I'd rather watch and judge things for myself.

Well it certainly looks more engaging than the bullshit Disney is making with that story.

As for Doug, his reaction is strange, I thought he usually liked "weird" movies like early Tim Burton or Brazil or Return to Oz. I guess repeating "THIS IS WEIRD" over and over makes for a better video than a more thought-out review...
