SO FAR, the movie has been pretty good. There are some coomer bait shit, but otherwise very on point with the racism and homophobia
 
Disappointed in the movie. The homophobia and racism was immaculate, but goddamn it was plagued by the ever-increasing fetish and coombait material. The hypnosis stuff seems to be here to stay and I'll say I was sick of it before, I'm sick of it now, and I'll be sick of it forever. It doesn't have the same feeling as the fart jokes and the poop. It feels a lot more 'genuine' in what Tamers likes/what fans want to push.

I am going to be charitable with Tamers and say that I think the hypno stuff was one-off (hopefully) with gender-bent shiny armor. Honestly, the video slowed down with the fem-shiny fight scene. Not even going to touch the gay filly shit

also are you guys ready for the next OC? Flawless-Arienos-Shit?

we did see some of the hypnoshit with Flora and some other ponies before Shining was some form of hypnoshit, it's why I'm not so sure of it being 'temporary'.

As for the new OC, I suspect we'll see them in the inevitable movie where Big Mac finds the faggy Slav pony. Ten bucks on it being another mental construct made reality.
 
Tamers’ classic style of humor was there for sure, but I only laughed like twice, maybe three times.

This part in particular made me laugh because even other characters are sick of Mary Sue OCs:



It was just a slog to sit through overall. I knew the Shining Armor gender swap shit was gonna have troon undertones eventually.

Also we’re getting another music video/song cover soon.

Oh no, Changeling 13420 is great. No, the one from the intro Ensi showed. The thing with the weird smile and design that's practically made for fanartists.

Can Flawless be called a mary sue? Overexposed at this point, certainly. But a mary sue has to be beloved by the entire cast, grating to the audience, and so good at everything it trivializes the story. Flawless is a deranged freak who gets munted in her first appearance, then is treated like a sped pony more than the actual sped ponies.

Flawless is an 'Anti-Sue'. Not quite a Mary Sue, but a character who still fits the mold. She's far from perfect, she's powerful- but not quite as much as the other gay ponies, but despite this the world still bends and gets molded to fit Flawless's whims. She doesn't get her ass beat when she fucks up. Flawless may not be all-powerful, but she's close enough to mooch and reap the effects from the others. Flawless both coasts through life off the backs of other ponies and the story bending and warping to fit her or her 'family's' needs.

Wasn't that from the outro in a previous movie? Tamers wanted to do an anime opening and reused lots of clips from before, I wouldn't read too much into it.

The movie was okay but messy and unfocused like most of his movies. I think he's admitted he doesn't storyboard and it shows in this one. The ghetto was the best part but Chrysalis has consistently been the funniest character of his MLP run. I thought it was about to end right before the big fight scene and that would have been fine from a pacing perspective since that's where it started to drag on.
 
Everything without the hypnosis gender swap ponies (such a shitty new plot that came out of nowhere) and flawless was pretty good. The invisible blast and the ai voice going over that one pony's celebrity crushes was funny.
