Yep. The pr0n-blur overlay isn't implemented on the Media tab so you can look at all the NSFW content you like just by going to a user profile or search results. This is the shit that happens when you fire too many devs and product owners.

They won't refuse to do it out of principle, they're just too dumb to figure out how to comply!

So any site that simply says fuck this shit, operates out of the jurisdiction of these tards, and serves the same purpose will immediately win in any competition.

I don't know how I feel about this, on one hand this is censorship. On the other hand this replaces banning people for saying bad words.
The original is still available apparently.

I've seen one other website do something to that extent to improve SEO/ad-friendliness:
The admin and dev made it so anyone that's not an oldfag or isn't connected will have everything they see on the site be "curated", replacing "nigger" by "neighbor", "donald trump" with something like "donut crumbs" and other words that could scare an advertiser, on top of doing things like hiding the "political" channel to them and also preventing any account before 2020 from seeing the channel at all (allowing far edgier content to be posted and people being reasonnably lax in their OPSEC by making feds and others not be able to see that content which also makes DMCA-triggerhappy people less likely to issue strikes)

What this could be is
  • A) that the devs of X did a try on a few servers to see how it'd look like and if affected people could get around it to better filter it, before pushing it online and making it so easily triggered people with money don't get their panties in a knot and trick them into allowing their ads to be displayed on people they would normally never advertise with, while allowing other people to say whatever they want (ISH).

    or

  • B) That or they're adding a "content filter" that's on by default and you have to go out of your way to turn it off

    or/and

  • C) It's part of a major update that will auto-moderate every post and categorize it as legal/illegal in a certain country, so X can comply with multiple countries and their jurisdiction(s) and censor certain content from being seen by users having IPs of those countries/jurisdiction(s), essentially filtering "hate speech" words deemed by [country] if your IP is one inside of [country] and similar, so if a country (let's say the philipines) bans all pornographic content, if your IP is within the philipines, i'll barr you from ever accessing those posts as long as the IP you're using is this one.
Speaking of, I recommend null does something like what that admin did, targetting specific IPs or anons so he can do some funny shit like find ethan ralph's IP or anyone else streaming, and send some event that flashes the gunt gif for the entire screen for a few seconds as he's live in front of his audience, that stuff is peak internet tomfoolery.
