I think the fact that the exact same logo was used for Dobson's official PayPal and this YouTube channel is evidence. He probably used the logo to take commission/payment for projects and then forgot to remove it so it couldn't be traced.

I choose to believe this is him. I also hope this stays here and nobody bothers him so he can continue doing his little animations and living an okay life. They're not bad.
 
Dobson going quiet, staying off the online ego train, and simply working on his animation skills is the best of all possible outcomes for the guy.

Yeah, seriously. This thread agrees that Dobson always had an almost-but-not-quite-good skill with animation, so him improving and not devolving into tantrums after so many years is kinda heartwarming.
 
he might not be in charge of directing the content. He might just be a animator working on comission so working with more trendy subject matter isn't that surprising. Anyone else associated with this channel?

It's possible, but the YouTube channel indicates it's one person. Also, if Dobson used the logo for his PayPal to accept money, that means he has some managerial oversight of the project by virtue of representing it while accept payment.

The animation of the long, complicated magical girl thing to summon an umbrella is pretty good.
