In the way that Furries become Jailhouse Gay - that is they enter into relationships with other men for lack of options of doing so with women - I think that Dobson is jailhouse Asexual. Its not that he has no sexual desire or urges, but lacks the ability/opportunty to translate those urges into real-life.

This is very non-threatening to a shrivel dick like Dobson. No icky men to make him feel inferior or inadequate, and with two girls he can easily imagine himself in the role of either girl: the passive one with a active girl who is pursuing him and initiating, or in the role of the protective "safe" partner.

So I guess he focuses on young girls because his idea of relationships never matured past 5th grade, and he focuses on lesbians to avoid comparing himself to other icky men.

I think that both of these points are correct. He requires the opposite party to initiate a sexual encounter and he really does not like men because he got bullied. I have seen both of those things go hand-in-hand. However, I still believe he's into the lesbians stuff because that's something a 13-year-old would be super into and his sexuality never really evolved past that. He's probably a voyeur.

I do not believe he is asexual because he did have some relationships with women and, unless there's evidence of him doing the "saving it for marriage" routine, they probably fucked in some capacity.

Anyway I randomly checked on Dobson’s PayPal account one day back in June (His adobson66@yahoo.com one) and noticed his avatar there had changed from his blue bear character wearing a Star Trek outfit with a rainbow in the background to this:

The image is really low resolution but if you zoom in you’ll see it’s a photograph of paper in a punch folder (There’s three holes at the top).

Then today I checked again and see it’s been changed to this:

So I guess at the very least we know unless someone has taken over Dobson’s PayPal account he’s not dead and still using the internet.

It’s his PayPal account address which uses the email address adobson66@yahoo.com shown in this screenshot so I suppose that means he’s still using the same email address?:

He almost certainly hates men because of childhood bullying. Everyone I've seen who despises their own sex was either a victim of parental abuse or bullying from peers. MovieBob is another good example of this.
As for his Rumiko Takahashi obsession, I think he simply just used her work as some kind of therapeutic escapism. It sounds like he had a pretty rough childhood (whether it was self-inflicted is debatable) and he found solace in anime to cope with it. I assume he has a special fondness for Rumiko Takahashi because Ranma 1/2 was his favorite — and possibly first — anime, but it definitely wasn't the only one with which he had a weird preoccupation (e.g., Gall Force and Iria.)

As mentioned, his misandry comes from his bullying, but Rumiko was just a manga artist he really liked, though not enough to finish reading her stuff. Seriously, he admitted that despite starting reading Ranma 1/2 in high school, it took him twenty years to actually read the whole series. And while 38 volumes is long for a manga, it should not take you twenty years to read them.

I've also always loved that the parts of the comedies he took were just the punchlines and never the set up that made them work. The Tsundere getting mad only works when there's a moment of the guy she's abusing being a pervert, or perceived as being a pervert, she never hits the guy for no reason. But Dobson doesn't get that, he just go right to the guy being abused because he doesn't understand the importance of set up. Hell, one Alex comic stole a joke from Spongebob where they go to Davy Jones' Locker, and find Davy Jones from The Monkees. But he didn't put that in, so the characters just randomly start singing Daydream Believer because that's how the joke ends in Spongebob.

He was more of an anime viewer than a manga reader. The only mangas he's claimed to have read afaik are Ranma 1/2 and Lupin III.

I don't know about the manga but he's very likely watched the anime. On his CattyN site he says that he still watches "anything by Rumiko Takahashi" despite hating anime in general, which implies that he's seen it.



And Lum is in the background of his "West vs. East" drawing, which is a surprising inclusion if he hasn't seen Urusei Yatsura, considering she's a relatively obscure anime character.

I don't think it's all that revisionist, I think we all are of the general opinion that his art is perfectly passable and even at it's worst is better than most, but, that his acerbic personality invites closer scrutiny of said work and encourages it to be torn to shreds when in reality? Had you not told the same person that Dobson had drawn it? It would've been regarded as unremarkable mid-tier early 00's webcomic material.

It's not his opinions that get him in trouble, it's his inability to read the room and sit on them when nobody's asking to hear them.

Very good find. It definitely adds up and seems quite likely. If it really is him, I'm actually kind of happy for him for actually doing animation which is what he always said he wanted to. It seems like taking his leave of the internet - publicly at least - has actually helped.
