My point: she may have done rehab. Even inpatient is possible in the Aug-Sept timing while April entertained Nick. For the sake of the kids, I like to think that currently she's being the functional parent. I'll take the rainbow reactions.

I can't think of any reason she would have. Yes, standard inpatient is 30 days, but if you recall Nick's speedrun of his court-ordered outpatient*, I don't think there's any respect for or sense of need in that household for it. I do not see Kayla striking out on her own, though I recognize I come to that with an overall negative impression of her generally. But my view of her aside, I don't see acknowledgement of "a problem" being part of their life.

* and a proper intensive outpatient program runs 6-8 weeks minimum, going 3 days/ week, 3 hours/ day, plus some 1:1 counseling, plus at least an initial doctor consult - and then IF you're ready to move to the second phase and beyond, the frequency/ duration decreases incrementally.

All that said, I could imagine a scenario in which Nick said "you - but not I - have a problem."

Even when done "correctly" that means the drunks doing it to satisfy some legal requirement just drink 4 days a week so they're not showing up obviously drunk to the IOP. Unless they're testing, it doesn't mean shit.

That was true twenty years ago. I don't think it's true today. If you're paying the bill yourself, they'll want you to stay in for 60 or 90 days or more. Insurers in California will cover 21 days. I think the average duration of stay might be down to about two weeks these days.

I'm just about to go to bed with Rehab by Shoshana Walter, so I might know more in the morning.

I'd comment on F. Lee Bailey, a legal genius banned from practicing law for a whole galaxy of ethical lapses, but he had an actual legal career, something Nick has never enjoyed.
 
Another day passes with no stream from Nick or Melton. The night is young but I’m not holding my breath. Melton has also been silent on Twitter for five days, almost unheard of for him.

I’d heard some whispers about the FBI having recently been in touch with Nick and Melton and as always tried to keep my expectations low. But the longer they keep mum, the harder it gets not to wonder what’s up.

Melton has been clowning the idea that he had anything to be afraid of, but the sudden silence is deafening. The other promising element is that Nick was contravening his ban from practicing law by giving Melton legal advice and telling him he had nothing to worry about. Nick is completely unequipped to deal with the likes of Melton turning on him.

Nick has in recent months gone live whenever someone (often yours truly) called him out for his radio silence. If he doesn’t go live tonight, it will be hard to believe he’s not spooked.
 
I want to believe in the eventual happening of the slow burning CFAA arc.

Rekieta said his most psychotic moments was the death of the Qover in October 2024 between Kayla threatening divorce and April leaving. I always believed he had a psychobreak and truly performed the intrusion as a reflective, desperate measure to regain some sense of control over someone.
 
I'm a little surprised he hasn't announced a stream to dunk on Hardin's filing, or at least made fun of it on Twitter. You'd think he'd be chomping at the bit to tear it apart and gloat about how the bodycam is never getting released and all those Kiwi Farmers with anime avatars won't ever get to see where his children sleep.

I'd like to believe the FBI rang up MAPton and Nick, but Balldo's been on a win streak and I don't think it's over yet. I'm on team Nothing Ever Happens and assuming that all the silence is just a coincidence. Nick hasn't been streaming because he's lazy and he hates streaming. He won't start again unless and until he gets shit from his PO for not being gainfully employed.

If he HAS been contacted by the FBI, though, he's probably going through the worst days of his life right now. He knows they have him dead to rights. He has admitted he did it multiple times, they're going to have logs from GMail probably with cookies tied to whatever various IPs connected with them (so they could still tie it to him if he switched on a VPN after Aaron's initial login), they're probably going to get whatever communications Nick and Melton used to talk about it unless it was Signal, and he's currently on probation for a felony.

He would be fucked. Royally fucked. And all he'd be able to do is kiss the boot of the Government and beg for mercy

Oh maybe that explains him going on an hours long anti-cop anti-government rant on Twitter a few days ago.
