Is there a known reason why he took a sharp left turn to MLP after years and years of Sonic content? I miss the old tamers
Tamers himself has mentioned that he cares about the increased viewership (and judging by the spike in fan interaction, he seems to love the fan art and general attention he gets in the brony community). He's been a brony for years, and now gets lots of attention from a community that far surpasses SU in size (wallet size too). Besides that he's gotten a lot more into dramatic storylines and sexualised shipping, and it sort of makes me happy that SU didn't have to suffer through that. Imagine if Bardonic turned into the kind of shit we see in MLP.
Over all it's because of a change in interest and a huge love of the spotlight that I think a lot of us didn't think Tamers cared much about.

Was he really? The only other instance of MLP being on his channel from what I remember was a plush being present in this video:
I recall plushies and a bedsheet I think. Nevertheless I think that's enough to warrant calling him a brony, it's unlikely you have that stuff unless you're a brony, and I've been told by a brony friend of mine that him using season 1 Luna's look and heavily featuring Braeburn stuff is indicative of early brony fandom stuff. It's speculative, of course, but it all makes me doubtful that the whole MLP thing is new for him.

The entire early premise was basically him lobbing stereotypical fandom ideas like seething over twilight being an alicorn in a way that seemed like it was making fun of that kind of stupidity at first only for it to not only be earnest but the start of him slipping into something arguably worse than his deviantart era behavior ever was, once again another intelligent(?) person steps into the room full of idiots without realizing idiocy breaches all kinds of armor plate in the end.

I'd say Tamers was an 'idiot'- or rather he was a semi-typical fan beforehand. Especially during hia DA days. A 'savant' one might say, he probably knew how to work his way around a fandom and what fans wanted/thought. What seem's to've happened is Tamers forgot how to act properly and is letting the greed and growth of his channel get to him. In the process he's losing his 'give no fucks attitude' towards fans in favor of simple platitudes and selling to the highest bidder. He still has the 'give-no-fucks' attitude, it but it's more unwieldly, like learning how to ride a bike, forgetting about it, and trying to wing it 10 years later. Inevitably that attitude much like the proverbial bike is gonna see him hit something because he didn't get it under control and make him lose his balance, and whatever he hits will probably be nasty.

I know basically every character in a Tamers show is gay, but usually you had a few main cast members who were really gay (Sonic and Bartleby, Sleet and Dingo) and then the rest were relegated to isolated gay moments that were running gags (Chuck and Mark, Sonia/Flora and Aleena, Manic and Sonic). Every MLP character now that has had one of these moments now has to be seriously dissected even tho its boring.

When it's revealed one of the horses is gay for another horse, which means that's all you will ever see them do or discuss whenever they are onscreen
In fairness Sweetie Belle was gay for Rainbow Dash beforehand, but Tamers is effectively going to kill what little extra character Sweetie Belle had because we desperately need more gay polycules between the ponies. That's what the Hazbin-Tamers people demand.

Yeah Scootaloo seemed like the one who really liked Rainbow Dash. I really don’t know what I’m expecting from it.

I probably got both of them mixed up but at the same time it probably won't matter soon because they'll be dropped into the same lesbian sludge like the majority of the ponies.

If it's around 30 minutes it could be tolerable. If it's an hour long then probably dial up a suicide hotline at a Pizza Hut.
