i dunno, on the one hand i agree with you, but especially as more time passes and cynicism is earned, a lot of this shit is just darwin's law etc. i don't cosign *not* fighting or reaching out, but over and over again, situations with this and similar winds up being akin to holding a rabid retard away from a cliff, and you will spend a week, month, years, trying to "convert" them, a troon will say "the sky is green" to them and instead of you being able to say "the sky is blue" you instead have to give a complete sourced document about how and why it's blue, and you will have to repeat this many times, and you will most likely not even know when you succeed, majority of the time you can just hope for planting the seed of "why?" in their head, of thinking for themselves, and hoping it takes effect before the dick chops, hormone damage etc.

Having made the acquaintance of some trans people in college and after I will say that it very much seems like trooning out made them less happy instead of more happy, even if they think the opposite is true. Now that I think of it - having been around urban areas with train tracks a lot - it's a very particularly male method of suicide, which is... funny. Not sure of the exact stats on it and would be interested to see them, but it's a fairly common event anywhere with serious train infrastructure as has been documented in the US, Europe, Japan etc but notably, heavily skewed male.
Not gonna PL by stating where, but I've lived in a few such areas and every single known instance of suicide I can think of via train-splattering has been a dude... including one time in front of a whole group of elementary schoolers on a school trip. It always struck me as the height of selfishness too, personally.

Honestly, the obvious to us isn't actually the most airtight argument when you compare it (on paper) to any other major surgery. I remember people were fearmongering about Lasik and people who commit suicide from the pain of complications a while back. Plenty of average people deal with unforseen awful side effects from surgeries or even medication because most doctors are greedy charlatans. Even something as tame as SSRIs have a chance to fuck your nervous system forever, literally making orgasm impossible (kind of similar to post op trannies that become sexless husks.)
All of that being said, though. The obvious difference is that there is no consistent evidence or way to prove that trannies need transitioning the same way you can prove someone has bad eyesight or a chemical imbalance in their brain. The maybe 0.001% that have actual self-harm causing body dysmorphia are treated with the same validity as the brickhons who destroy their marriages because of sissy porn. And even then there's the fact that unlike any other mental illness in the DSM that's approached with stopping the unwanted thoughts, the entire trans medical complex is built around affirming what they've defined as a mental illness. It just doesn't make any sense. I really feel like they'd catch less flak if they just came out and said they just want deviant plastic surgery.

The already mentioned Kevin Gibes is an example, as he goes back time and again for “one last revision” or FFS.
And in his case, he is a decent guinea pig. No dependent children or really loving family to potentially sue if something goes wrong and he dies on the operating table.
