If you apply this question to most content creators on that site, you'd be asking it all day. I don't know how exactly he got popular, but considering he gets most of his popularity from Twitch (which he became the most subscribed to streamer on it in 2021) and I hate Twitch with a passion, that explains why I probably never heard of him. He does collaborate with a lot of people so that definitely helps. Funny, I only ever heard of him through a video someone made covering that show where Men and Woman survive on an island for as long as possible, Ludwig covered it, and I only knew that because the first guy made a response to Lud's video that appeared on my recommendations calling him out for barely even paying attention to the video or something. I think it was this one.
Don't care much for anyone in this video, OP included, but it was quite funny.

I've been subbed to Technicals for a while, didn't even knew he was Smash-focused when i subbed initially. I like him because he pretty much does the same as the users on here when they make threads. He even says nigger without getting banned

I found him from his Esam video, which started me on the never ending journey of finding out just how fucked the Smash community was. Problem was I never hit the bottom since it kept getting worse. That being said, my favorite videos are his LowTierGod video and especially Fight Knight. The amount of troons now into smash is staggering even 6-7 years ago Smash and the fgc in general seemed to be the least trooned out in gaming, now it’s a minefield of them, I can only imagine locals being filled with Daquans and Emily’s they are for sure not a place to go for a good gaming experience

Considering the tumblr-adjacent nintendrone community Sm4sh attracted, the troon infestation was only a matter of time. It was a shame to see that faggotry spread to Melee then, but seeing how many so called OGs cucked out, it probably didn't matter.

Seems like Brawl is the only Smash Game that hasn't been infested by troons, and that's probably because the Compfags hate and despise it and because troons are the biggest followers of Groupthink and hate Brawl because it wasn't as on crack as Melee is they ignore it. That may change though if there's a big Brawl mod that comes out that gets the troons interested.

That mod is already out, and it's called Project M/Project +, which is literally "Brawl, but more like Melee". Vanilla Brawl died ages ago because it sucks ass.

I personally doubt. Project + exists, and is THE most popular and well-known of the Brawl mods. For Melee specifically, the troons refuse to play anything else, for the stupidest reasons.
1. It doesn't "feel right", they still feel they're not playing an official game and instead play a mod.
2. Since it's a mod, it can't be played at official tournaments because Nintendo would crack down on it.
3. They don't want to play anything that doesn't resemble Fox vs. Fox. They don't want to learn anything else that isn't the same 5 or so matchups that Melee has had for the past 2 decades. The excuse they give is that learning many matchups isn't as deep as learning the same 5 matchups. Hell, they don't even want to play against mid-tiers in Melee because they know that if they get their ass beat by the guy using Kirby, they won't get to brag about being carried by playing Fox.
4. They don't like patch culture. They don't want to play anything if there's a chance their main gets nerfed in a patch. Comes back to them just wanting to play the same thing for decades with no changes.
5. They're "not a fan" of the Brawl engine.
6. They don't like how the graphics in Brawl look, they say there's too much visual clutter compared to Melee and they can't tell what they're doing. It's as stupid as it sounds, Melee's graphics didn't age that great either, and I personally have not had any issues with this so-called "visual clutter" with P+.
Want to piss off a Melee troon? Tell them Ultimate feels better to play.

I still see people making videos about it and how Brawl is an underrated game. Melee is absolutely one of the most overrated games out there at least in my eyes, it was a rushed, broken game that people like because of the glitches that they can abuse in order to be the top players.

That said, I think "people only like Melee because it has mechanical exploits that give it depth[, therefore it's bad]" is a weird naturalist argument that somehow implies that because something wasn't made with intent, it's somehow not actually good and you're only having fake fun with it, actually. I don't personally agree with that, I think games are worth judging for what they are, and "does what it is in de facto terms exactly align with its design goals?" is very dismissive of the idea of a game having any emergent qualities.
Like, it implies that the exact same game, down to the byte, released in two alternate universes where the only difference is that, in one of them, the dev said "yeah, that was on purpose, actually" somehow makes the one in that universe intrinsically better somehow. I don't understand that.
