Youse (contraction of “you fags”) don’t remember swingers, do you? Women being whores/men being manwhores and sleeping around with the spouses “consent” is not a new thing and polyamory is just the new way they gayed up something that used to bring to mind circular beds and hairy pube shagging.

Dales song, except for the race autism (Dale would be a civil libertarian type that would get along easily with Black rednecks).

I liked it. I thought it was a fine follow-up. Whole I still prefer the original I did still enjoy this. The characters felt like themselves, the jokes got chuckles out of me, and the animation was better than I thought. It was still cheap-looking on a few shots but it's not terrible. I hope they get a higher budget next season to fix it. The voices are mostly good. Dales can be distracting as it switches between the two but it's still passable. I don't like Kauns voice. He sounds too young for a guy who's supposed to be about 50. Dale and Peggy seem a little flanderzied. Dale had a personality outside his conspiracies and Peggy sounds too aggorant at times. I feel like they could have used 5 more episodes. It felt too rushed as they had to re-introduce everyone and how the modern world. I felt the same with Samurai Jack season 5 with how rushed it was. I'm sure the next season is also 10 so if it gets more I hope for 15 episodes, Overall I really liked it. It's one of the best revivals I have seen lately and think other shows should take notes from it.

Bill, Bobby, and Peggy were the most hilarious of the cast to me. Hank grew more on me and I found Boomhaur to be very heartfelt and a nice mellow. Dale's craziness was a little bit over the top, I wish he was slightly more three dimensional. Bobby and Joseph were great. I liked how Connie realized Chane's BS and became more fun and warm to Bobby. At first I didn't like Willow but she grew on me a bit, but I do see why Bobby broke up with her.

It was nice to see DiDi, Good Hank, and Junichero. DiDi is my favorite character from the entire KOTH due to her antics and mannerisms.

I hope John Redcorn and Joseph have an opportunity to bond more, I know it was hinted at that he was going to visit Redcorn's ranch but we never saw it this season.

Mihn and Nancy were good, however Kahn's voice could have used a better addition but it wasn't "too" bothersome. Brian (Keith David) was alright, I like how they used him sporadically and didn't shoe-horn him in as a token.

Gracie, Luanne, and Lucky not being mentioned has me yearning for their presence.

Overall I'd give the new season a 7.7 out of 10. It is a good watch but there are improvements that need to be made to continuity, timeline, pace, and personality.

This was me after watching it.
I hope that the open relationship stuff is forever dropped like it was after Chane dumped Connie for the sake of a redemption arc for Connie next season but I have my doubts.
The open relationship stuff was pretty obviously being mocked for how gross it is and how unhappy it makes women who agree to it because they're scared of being "uncool". At first I was a bit surprised that netflix would allow that opinion, but then I remembered this show was on hulu. I don't know what opinions hulu allows.

My family and I binged it over the weekend and really enjoyed it for the most part. I was expecting something so much worse by the way some people were talking. It's a shame about the wrong voices, but that is all Disney's doing by their woke hiring mandates.
I also thought the Andrew Tate episode was the worst of the lot and reading here that a Velma writer was responsible explains so much.

Every clip I've seen of this so far has seemed... soulless. Am I off base? I'm not just talking the janky animation and the wrong voices for main characters (though neither of those help) Just everything about this feels off to me.

Hulu is a Disney puppet, so whatever it believes I guess

I haven't watched the new season yet, but I've been watching some of the clips and...

Why is this the second time I've seen a modern episode tried doing the small creatures having sex thing as a joke?
I know it's a small throw away gag, but has King of the Hill ever done a joke like this where it's just animals having sex?

And don't say Hank getting raped by a dolphin. That doesn't count because that was a whole ass plot point.

the show felt kinda pro saudi, which is a little weird right? like I feel as if there was little pushback on a country that only introduced age of consent laws in the last ten years and requires women to get written permission from either their dad or husband to walk alone. Them doing the "its more like america than america" bit multiple times and hank expressing that he likes peggy in a Burka felt kinda weird. I told my friend that and he seriously thought I was gaslighting him and making that up to laugh at him for believing me.

otherwise, I loved it, gave me the same feeling as the original at times. The episode with Hank's brother was a standout to me.

Even Willow is better than that slut Connie at this point. She's just going to be a shrill Asian American Princess while Willow would appreciate Bobby for the cultured practical man he is.

Also I liked Jellystone.
Jellystone gave me a space ghost reunion, and I'll always be happy for that.

The joke is that Hank and Peggy lived in a simulated town that's designed to resemble America and it didn't change with the times. They experienced the themed restaurant version of Saudi Arabian culture.

Thought of this (though barely hinting)...

I was half-watching as the wife binged it
ngl took me a minute to realize that was supposed to be Khan

There's those Velma writers showing their asses again. This gag is ripped right out of that show.

New writers. A decent amount of the old ones might even be dead, mang.
On the topic, I've seen some people mention the new season is more inappropriate and they don't feel comfortable watching it with their kids. Thoughts? I guess it's a bit less subtle?
It's definitely not "all ages" anymore, possibly for the same reasons that the final season of Samurai Jack was 100% not for kids.

There was that episode where dale worked with the female exterminator and she tried role playing as a pigeon to get dale to bang her.

Yeah that's the thing about older King of the Hill. They always have been "tasteful?" about showing off their sex jokes and has never really been fully explicit about it.

Like if the scene I just talked about was in an older episode they would've just left it at Kahn complaining about the geckos fucking AND NOT have the geckos visually show up on cue to fuck right in front of them so hank could make a face and a disgusted comment about it.

I'm not a prude or anything I just though this moment was really unfitting for King of the Hill's style of writing and humor.
Like I said I haven't watched the season just clips so I'm under the impression most of the new jokes are going to be like this...

It is definitely more vulgar than the original show. One of the first things I noticed when watching the first episode was that it was given a TV-14 rating. I thought that was kind of odd because throughout the shows history there was only three episodes that didn't receive a TV-PG rating. The new season goes very heavy on things like Peggy swearing and sex jokes. The GH episode literally has the guys in the alley make multiple masturbation jokes. It came across as so out of character for them.

It isn't like the show didn't have these types of topics in them, but they were done much more tastefully and were more limited. As I mentioned, before this season there were only a few episodes of the show that had received a TV-14 rating. You can tell this is the result of having millennial writers on the shows staff now.

The issue with modern tv is that most shows know that they probably won't get signed on for a third season because of algorithm and market testing purposes. Mike Judge knows this and took the opportunity to convey one message in as many episodes as possible: Asian people are kind of annoying.
