Most corporate vtubers are very safe, sanitized, junk food entertainment. They act cutesy, sing songs, play games, and don't interact with their audience in any kind of personal way. They're basically japanese idols but digital.

Once you get into the indie vtuber sphere (especially the non-Japanese spaces) there's far more variety, some are straight up whores and e-prostitutes, some do GFE (girlfriend experience) where they will literally larp as their viewers girlfriend, some are like the person here where the vtuber avatar is just an outlet for them to be mindless edgy retards in both left and right wing flavors (I've seen both neo-nazi and soviet tankie vtubers), but even so the majority of indie vtubers are basically indistinguishable from regular streamers except they have an anime character instead of a webcam.

A lot of them will outright ban people who try to get romantic or parasocial with them.


A lot of the more vitriolic hatred for vtubing comes from people that take the absolute lowest of the low slop in the space (like the fag this thread is about) and then project that onto every vtuber or vtubing in general to justify their pre-existing hatred for the concept, for whatever personal reason or another. It's kind of like people who hate anime as a medium with a passion and will pretend that all anime is tentacle rape and schoolgirls flashing their underwear with no story.

That's probably the best defence of vtubers I've heard and you've made a convincing argument, but I still don't fully understand what it is about vtubers that makes grown men so zealous with support and defensiveness. How is it any different from just regular streaming, and what's the appeal of the cartoon PNG in the corner? I remember getting into an argument with someone because I said it's no different than regular twitch thots and they never fully explained to me why it wasn't. But if you think it isn't, and the appeal is that it's just women who are interested in anime and all the weird shit they like, then why do the cartoon girl larp. I fully admit I'm not the target audience for this shit, and despite the baby voice they put on and the whole kawaii aesthetic, but I can understand watching a streamer you like that doesn't need to show their face. Why do the "I'm a cartoon girl who sits in the corner looking cute" shtick? It's always something I can never fully understand.

Who really knows but the roots are really just a cute anime girl does cute things and is playing video games with some music and other projects on the side. I personally just like corpo Vtubers cause they are staying true to the idol culture that made them popular.
And it's not just cute things many of them are great talents in general including singing, dancing and being just a good entertainer.
I totally get why people don't like it, at first I also didn't like it and I just saw stupid JP women being dumb but when HoloEN debuted I gave them a chance and found them entertaining enough to make it worth watching them and with each new member it really got better.

But yea the indie scene is ruining the core identity what made Vtubing successful its now just e whores that want to make a quick buck and the worst part is that even fat ugly whores can do it and these twtichfaggots eat that shit up like its crack.

I have this same mindset. I usually follow for the talents of the streamer (like a violinist joining up), or for the actual entertainment value. I cant stand niggers like that one brown faggot with the shitty design trying to insert politics into "Anime girl streams COD and fucks it up"
 
Did anyone not even theorize that the Nazi Vtuber persona bit was all bait for lefties online to latch onto? Albeit very poorly done bait, mostly because of lack of substance. The guy was already in the sub iq range when it came to opsec, so I don't think anyone who did know it was bait expected him to put on a good show.
