my current theory is cross-border action between vietnamese guys, orchestrated by the chinese. if the vietnamese dude said "i'm cumming" (south viet accent) that means his killer had to have understood him somehow, which means he was also probably vietnamese (he also appears to speak central viet accent? he mumbles really bad). but the chinese soap indicates that this is either near the border, or the chinese gave all the supplies for the murder (or both). in addition, it seems this went viral amongst chinese messaging groups first; they have NO clue who tf did this btw.

The earliest trace of the video appears on the 2nd of July in a small Telegram group that contained around 40 people, later reduced to approximately 11. This group was created by a Vietnamese individual who also spoke Chinese to facilitate the sale of the videos and photos of the killing. The cost of the "package" was either approximately $100 USD or $600 USD. The below screenshot contains the earliest known instance of the video, accompanied with a caption reading: "In total, there are 11 videos and 98 photos, sold as a package". The pinned message reads: "Anyone who needs to purchase can contact @jehssbsn" (the account has since been deleted):
In other words, yes, this is a bona fide snuff film, filmed for pornographic purposes and sold for money, that got leaked onto the wider Internet.
A new video has been discovered of the masked killer and the victim before the execution. His few words translated from Vietnamese:

There are at least 4 confirmed different angles depicting the killing as evidenced by the following screenshot showing the moment of the beheading, with another camera visible on a stool:
The closest available sources state it occurred in northern Vietnam. This is the most likely considering the sum of information available (Vietnamese floor tiling, objects seen in the vids/pics are either sold or made in Vietnam). Sources also state that the killing occurred in June of this year.
