Yes, but it's open now and even if that price differential is the same, it avoids an also dangerous trip back to Beirut. There is still stuff happening there, including the Lebanese Army attempting to disarm Hezbollah. My response was in the context of her needing to leave without having much help to rely on.Syrian air space was closed for 2 weeks due to the Israel-Iran war and just reopened when she arrived so the Istanbul-Beriut route was very expensive ($900 Istanbul-Damacus vs $350 for Istanbul-Beruit),
Right now a one-way flight from Damascus is only about $80 more than one from Beirut.
