This is like a harrowingly retarded situation the result of years of triple nigger engineering. Every portrait sprite has arbitrary padding because he wants a handful of extra large portraits, which is already a pixel art stylistic violation but his game isn't going for a realistic style to begin with so let that slide, but anyway rather than writing the code in a way way to support both sprite sizes (you can write a program to automatically pad the smaller sprites in <2 hours), the artist instead has to manually count out the pixels for every sprite. And then in a separate issue the translator fucked up (or more likely Jason failed at communicating to them) and made lines of dialogue that exceed the character limit, and the solution is not to delete 2 exclamation points in "!!!" but to make the bottom of the sprite smaller so the line fits in the text box. Except your artist is too retarded to understand the problem after 30 minutes and somehow Maldavius actually manages to put together a more competent version (barring the woodgrain) in 3 minutes but still manages to be such a smug asshole that the artist still feels like the winner of the exchange. But oh wait the next piece of French dialogue is so long that it goes over even the modified sprite so you're fucked anyway and it was all in vain. You could move the second sentence of the 3rd line to a separate dialogue box but oh wait your game has no way to handle that because your french implementation is just hotswapping globalAllDialogueBoxesArray[4321] for globalAllDialogueBoxesArrayFrench[4321]

Don't get me wrong, cutting corners like this is natural in any project, the problem is we never see 5 fucking minutes of this guy working without the most sever of corner cutting on full display

I don't see how that has anything to do with what I wrote. So what if he has unearned success, that's basically every huge streamer's story, none of them are particularly talented or good at really anything besides sitting in front of a camera and yapping for 8+ hours day after day. Also a market correction? Still doesn't explain why people like Hasan Piker or Ethan Klein are rolling in money despite all the horrible shit they've done or promoted.

I strongly doubt that if it werent for him acting like a total jack ass during the hardcore WoW streamer event that this guy wouldnt be doing just fine. Nobody would care that he stuffs gnomes up his ass or that he is some kind of degenerate furry with a pooner wife. They didnt before and they never would have had he just kept his mouth shut over the debacle. Now people are looking for a reason to hate him.

I think ultimately its not what you say that matters its how you say it. You can support Hamas, you can advocate for lowering the age of consent, you can try and destroy families through CPS, and none of it matters as long as you don't do it in a way that rubs people (the dumbest people) in the wrong way.

I think its disappointing that despite all the bullshit and all the things this guy is none of it fucking mattered. What brought the house of cards tumbling down wasn't due to some grave crime committed, but being an asshole in a video game. He's having his life ruined not because he's a bad person, but because he was rude to people in a video game.

Man I don't know what's worse: Malding continuing to seethe over the piece of wood and repeating himself over and over again, or the implication that Shaye is actually arguing with the little shit the entire time? This stupid skirmish should've ended in under 5 minutes - hell, nah, it should've ended in 5 seconds. You can't develop hundreds of assets for a game and bitch for 30 minutes over every single minor mistake. I know he's a fraud of a gamedev, but still. There's something really comically bad happening here and I need to lap up every drop of milk.

It's kinda hard to tell what Shaye is complaining about since we're basically only hearing one side of a phone call. But Jason is for sure holding himself back because of the camera. Let's play devil's advocate for the pooner here and say that there must be some narcissistic injury going on. I'm betting Shaye is upset that Jason's first instructions sucked, and now Shaye's trying to get him to admit that they sucked - but all he does instead is repeat his second, clearer instructions and gaslight about how Shaye can't follow basic instructions. Maybe there's some aspect of Shaye deliberately being an annoying little troll, I don't know. But it still makes me think about both MMO incidents where he simply repeats that everyone else sucks and never ever touches upon the specifics of how he failed. God damn.

Alternative interpretation is that the tranny pooner who can't keep themselves away from a retarded narcissist is, in fact, exactly as stupid as Jason Hall. Like a retardation-based particle accelerator.

And the extra funny part is that the textbox portrait assets never needed the artist to manually add 30px top padding, 10px bottom padding. If Jason had any fucking idea of how to code UI, he could just align every portrait himself and never ever have to annoy the artist about it. Absolutely worthless little man he is, as always
