I'm not sure if anyone here has seen it but there was this youtube video from a I think Asian Canadian detailing the problems with Canada in a very fair and nondramatized fashion. He went over several topics from MAID, the death of his friend due to Canada's assisted suicide, to housing to cost of living. I would like to find it again and I can't which is annoying because Youtube usually shoves videos I don't want to see in my face over and over again.

This is something that has always really bothered me. I've experienced this a lot in the real world and in the virtual world where I'll say something about crime, or I'll mention Canada is a dangerous place, and I'll have a bunch of dotards frothing at the mouth telling me: "No, no! Canada is very safe. There is no crime in Canada," and then, without me ever having mentioned it, they'll somehow always bring up how America is apparently "so much more dangerous."

It's very rare that I can have a conversation about crime with people because most times, I'll have to deal with these brainwashed idiots spewing ideology they don't even understand. It's not limited to Canadians either - I notice Americans are often under the same impression that their country is somehow riddled with way more crime than Canada.



Meanwhile, every statistic that I've come across demonstrates that Canada has way higher rates of crime per capita than America, both in terms of property crime and violent crime. The Fraser Institute has this really great article about the whole thing with a bunch of statistics they collected from law enforcement agencies, government websites, and elsewhere. If you don't wanna slosh through it the main points are:

• Since 2014, the rate of violent crime has increased in Canada, and by 2022 was 14% higher than in the U.S.
• Since 2014, the rate of property crime has increased in Canada, and by 2022 was 27.5% higher than in the U.S.

Per the article, a person is more likely to be the victim of property crime in Windsor, Ontario, than they are in Detroit, Michigan. A person is more likely to be the victim of a violent crime in Halifax, Nova Scotia, or Moncton, New Brunswick, than they are in Boston, Massachusetts.

So many people are stuck in the 90s. If you talk about real issues that are happening today, they look at you like you have two heads and they'll mumble something about how Canada is better than America or spew some eLbOwS uP bullshit. Part of the reason the country is in the state that it's in is because denial is a national sport and projection is a national pastime.

If you want to experience 90's Canada, you'll have to move to Scandianavia, or Japan. Public spaces are clean, safe, and beautiful, people generally don't steal, and belongings are usually returned. The poorest neighbourhood in Tokyo is cleaner and safer than all of Toronto.

And this is my perpetual issue with Canadians too, the complete and utter unwillingness of Canadians to emulate Scandinavia and Japan. Because Canadians deep down know we can't have nice things because we'd have to be a little more racist and offensive to do it.

If you want Toronto to be as clean and safe as Tokyo, you'd basically have to institutionalise all the homeless people and drug addicts, and law enforcement would have to be emboldened to arrest the Blacks, Moslems, and Indians. You'd have to make loittering and any forms of unsanitary behaviour a crime, with fines and possible prison time.

I always hear people wondering how is Japan able to do it, their ruling class are literally Japanese supremacists, they ain't going to let a bunch of foreigners ruin their country.

Scandinavians are socially progressive but they're a lot more discriminatory than the rest of Europe. Denmark being the most discriminatory of them all, but their social services are extremely generous. Social services work wonders if the country is actually discriminatory.

Thus, Canada can never achieve Scandinavian and Japanese level of civilization, because we'd be racist, instead we're just going to be a socialist version of California.

We also make up only 4 of the top 100 most violent cities. What it DOESN'T mention is that Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Regina and Saskatoon (the four Canadian cities in the top 100 joint ranking) are all crawling with CHUGS. I think it depends on the situation. Indians who move to Alberta generally are employed and productive.

Indians in Ontario seem quite content to form welfare ghettos. I believe this has exposed a major flaw in eastern Canadian culture.

More and more of them are getting into the trades and construction. Their skill level is the worst. They damage things or mess up which requires them or another tradie company to redo their work. They're constantly yelling at one another and leaving huge stink clouds everywhere. They always leave garbage and their materials everywhere and you're forced to work around all that. They blast shitty Punjabi music at high volume. Basically they make any construction work site less safe and are an offense to the ears and nose.
