Does anyone else think the quality of kings & generals have noticeably gone done ever since the Russian-Ukraine war?
They've been shit for a while before the war. Most of the battle animation channels are very slop-tier in my opinion and generally try to up production quality to compensate for lack of substance.

Simple Hostpry is one of my favorites, mainly due to how shitposty they've become with the topics of the videos.

I'm only a bit of a history buff, and Harmful Opinions (of Candid/Sundgrad Studios/Stop Killing Games/etc. fame) definitely isn't; but eight days ago, HO did a watch-along/react to Portable Orange's 'How I Joined (and Left) the Far-Right', and suffice it to say, he doesn't seem like a bloke clever enough to refute a video like LAC's one on Ancient Greece (starts at 35:40).

Interesting video going over the rise of Christianity throughout the world, I don't know if people watch Epic History here but the I thought their videos on Napoleon were good plus they have a really good narrator.

Have yet to see one who was actually alt-right and not some lolbertarian who is now far-left for the money. Many joined breadtube when they saw what chapo and contra were racking in.
The "I used to be alt-right crowd" is either lolberts who thought Charlie Kirk, Jordan Peterson, and Ben Shapiro were the leading figures of that non-existent movement or have now realized being an autistic Jew-sperg gets you know where and is content to shift the overton window within current politics until the boomers croak.

None of the first types have probably ever heard of Murdoch Murdoch once.

I lurked here frequently, first time posting. I watched the channel Leather Apron Club a while ago, never subscribed to it but watched a few of his video. Recently, I found this video recommended to me debunking his video. I know it's a year old but it appears to be showing up in people's recc tab when I scrolled the newest comments.

Haven’t watched either of the two Portable Orange videos in question because I purposefully don’t watch poltisperging from creators I go to for non-political content, but I will say having watched his other videos he’s decent as far as historytubers go.

His series on Roman religion is neat, since there’s such a dearth of content on it, especially pre-hellenization. His companion docs do a good job of citing sources, and he updates it with alternative view points and sources that comments give.
Politics aside, I’d give him a 7/10. Not cream of the crop, but there are a LOT worse content creators in the history sphere out there. Has the potential to bretty gud if he focuses on the history and not retarded shit like these two videos.
