You can look at Anus and Ian and immediately intuit out why their relationship is making both of them miserable, unhappy, unhealthy people - they are not, and have never been, partners. They don't love each other. They don't respect each other - and Ian doesn't even respect himself enough to care when Anus insults him.

Their entire relationship is pathological, and they're somehow both codependent and simultaneously incredibly unequal. It is an absolute checklist of what you should avoid in a relationship, no matter who you are. I know I mentioned this in an earlier comment ages ago but the videos he did with Max and Chad last year really highlighted how "out of it" he is now, he hardly said anything or added anything to the videos, but you could see him almost start to come out of his shell again. It was probably the first time I've seen him genuinely smile and laugh in a long while.
Edit: He actually throws his head back in laughter a few times, he was more animated here than he ever is with Anisa.

He didn't even need to do the boxing thing, he had a popular and successful niche in a post-edgy YouTube. All he really had to do was not get salty at Sam Hyde (Or not interact with him to begin with) and continue to make successful documentaries about old Internet personalities. Truly set for life doing something he enjoyed doing(I assume); the epitome of the American Dream. But Anisa wanted to do boxing and he Just. Can't. Say. No. He never even liked boxing and yet he changed his entire career for it.

Anus was furious so they went to another doc and she sat in and answered all the questions for him with the correct answers to get an ADHD diagnosis. Lo and behold Ian is now prescribed adderall and is still not making content and is low energy all the time, but now has less dopamine and a chemical dependence on top.

Yeah I power leveled about this pages ago but TLDR: people without ADHD taking meds meant for it become overly medicated zombies. Someone with ADHD would not act as cognitively declined as Ian does now.

I think something like Sam would've happened at some point in these documentaries. I never liked the documentary saga because to me it read like Ian was poking fun at these people and manufacturing events to get good footage. It came off like he thought he was better than these people and was more showcasing their lives to laugh at rather than to humanize the people who are the subjects of the video.

In contrast to something like Tosh.0's web redemptions where you can tell Tosh went out of his way to make the guest feel comfortable and be able to laugh at themselves while Tosh also embarrassed himself or let himself be the butt of the jokes. Tosh did this in an effort to not pick on the guest and put himself on their level. Those web redemptions never felt mean-spirited like Ian's documentaries felt.

Not sure if it was already mentioned, but Michael and Kate revealed that Anisa and Ian just tell the tattoo artist to do whatever tattoo they want on them. They probably don't even know how it looks until it's on them. At least you see it when you open the gacha.

That's a good point. I wonder how much of a hand in the documentaries Anisa had. It wouldn't surprise me if Idubbbz gained is false sense of superiority completely on his own or always had it, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Anisa encouraged/told him to be more high and mighty because she has one of the largest ego known to man. Either way, failure just runs in their veins at this point.
