I listened to most of the interview.
Kind of surprised it hasn't manifested more discussion.
Candace came off poorly IMO, seemed to be using James Lindsay-tier "Woke Right" tactics most of the time, didn't back up her own "I disagree" side very well, used awful analogies, strayed off topic with her counterarguments, had circuitous petty arguments about drama between creators like Dave Smith that went nowhere, used racist/antisemitic/evil labels like a leftist, etc.
At the end, she delved into Nick's personal life, started lecturing him that he's selfish because he isn't dating or on a path to get married. Then, when Nick pushed back, saying her opinion isn't as valid because she's a woman, because she worked comfortably for The Daily Wire for years, that she married into money and was very comfortable before starting to speak out (he called her a "limited hangout" at one point), she went all women moment and ended the stream with petty "Why are you so triggered? I'm not triggered, you're triggered" line of questioning.
I thought ending the stream calling for her youngest child (not shown) was also perfomative.
The whole 2 hours seemed like a setup and a wasted opportunity.
Nick did a lot of prepwork on his own show and Twitter this week preparing his audience for the Candace interview release. He was trying to frame expectations, so must have been concerned about how it went and how he came off.
I wonder why some of his potential detractors like Candace don't specifically ask him about the thinly-veiled gay stuff, the catboi stuff, some of the allegations from former AF acolytes, etc.
The "Why aren't you dating?/Why aren't you getting married?" PG-13 line of questioning is designed to undermine Nick's credibility and create distance between his messaging to the Groypers and his actual IRL behavior.
One wonders why none of the content creators across the table from Nick ever specifically address the worst-kept secret degeneracy rumors.
