Told the story before, but I had a teenage phase of thinking I perhaps wasn't a girl because of normal self esteem issues, anxiety around growing up combined with stuff I'd read on Tumblr, but I knew I didn't want to become a boy and it was way back when the idea of "non binary" had barely left the internet and most doctors wouldn't even entertain the idea of a person wanting to be sexless/genderless, especially not a minor. It's wild how quickly the narrative seemed to flip, and now here I am simultaneously relieved nothing was done to me and worried for this next generation of socially awkward young women having all this pooner propaganda shoved in their faces.

A lot of the women on KF for trans discourse have that same realization: "if I'd been five years younger, I might have fallen for it and nuked my life." We're shitlords now, but adolescence sucks and life experience accumulates slowly.

I'm impressed, and heartened by the younger KF women who did have pooners tugging at their hems during their Teenage Identity Crisis Years and realized it was fake, with or without a period of belief in genderism.

The shortest way to express that awkward pre/teen girl angst, without getting too far into feminist theory, is the realization: "fuck, you mean I have to become an adult, and a woman? That's two things!"

All that said, I'd be curious to see how the typical KF'er finds this site. Mocking trannies brought me here, so there's a bit of an ideological presumption to even register for a site like this.

I had someone slide into my DMs on Tumblr to compliment my username and offered a follow for follow. She called herself an artist and of course, flattery gets you everywhere, so I followed. She constantly talked about her thread on Kiwi Farms and ebegged. Over time I grew to dislike her and looked up the Kiwi Farms thread to see what was said about her. Rabbie Davis got me in and I’ve never left.

So for me, I never sought out the Farms, the Farms found me.

Outsiders not familiar with our forum like to bag on how "transphobic" threads like these are, but I think that they are actually a positive thing in helping keep people who read them grounded in reality and to stay away from hormone fuckery and the SRS chop-shop.

Not really. If anything, it confirmed suspicions and concerns I had had for a long time as an autistic gay woman seeing who was pooning out, what trans “healthcare” actually did to them, etc.

I was also not only into fandom, but also participated in wank and gossip sites for it like Godawful Fanfiction, Fandom Wank and CosFu. Consequently felt at home here when I first visited after trying to see what Chris Chan had been up to since his trooning out. Discovered the OG version of Beauty Parlour and the Tumblr subforums and found myself, for lack of better word, validated that others saw through the SJW insanity, Albert Einstein stories, scammers, etc that my Tumblr friends were blindly posting and told me I was crazy or bigoted for not doing same. Stayed here ever since.

KF came to me right place, right time, I suppose. It’s not a safe space, per se, yet I’m still allowed more freedom of speech than elsewhere on the web. That in itself is something.

But things took a dark turn when I learned of "top surgery buddies": innocent children's plush toys that are taken with you pre-surgery and returned post-surgery so that you can feel rest assured about your impending butchery, complete with hideous stitches of their own. Knowing how young the girls who get top surgery can be, this is both deeply disturbing and honestly kind of sad.

They are copying what pediatrics sometimes do to very young kids. They explain surgery or other treatments trough a toy so that kid understands what's happening and what's needed for recovery. Sometimes the toy gets stitches or other visual indicators of treatment the kid is going training so they doesn't feel alone with their struggles. It's cute because it's for sick little kids and can be helpful and comforting.

It's not cute if you're an adult. You should not be having major elective surgeries if you aren't able to cope with them like an adult

Another one that bothers me when it comes to genderpeople rewriting their personal history - you'll get corrected for saying things like "I went to school with her" when the person being discussed has since pooned out (to keep it vaguely on topic) and wants he/him or they/them pronouns, and I've seen some TIMs seriously say "when I was a little girl..." Arguably even worse than Dylan Mulvaney and his imitators calling their new female identity "girlhood", at least there's some degree of acceptance there that they were treated as male in their younger days.

Not really. I used to lurk on KF for the Yanderedev thread, but that was the extent of my usage of the site. I figured that being trans wasn't worth it independent of the website. I had a 'not like the other girls' phase as a teen, but I realized that my interests nor my personality made me more or less of a woman. So, when the topic of nonbinary came up, I was sure that going by those pronouns or being trans in any way would be a waste of time and energy. Work with what you have, right? It also helped that I was never interested in yaoi and just went to school and worked lol.

The Farms did peak me though. I saw some twitter users talk about kiwifarms when I thought it was still down, I started reading some threads again and here we are. The only annoying part is that trans art on twitter annoys the hell out of me now and it's everywhere
