I was browsing Cats' website and remembered edges2cats was the site Cats had wanted to do a tutorial on. It seems edges2cats no longer works, at least not for me, so please accept this weird AI cat as an offering instead of the weird low quality image I had hoped to post.

I am not 100% sure what a cat looks like I was drawing from memory

Good find! I was going to mention that at least the pix2pix tool could be reimplemented. I saw the Cats model was made by Christopher Hesse and I wasn't sure if a copy of the model itself was included in his repo. Any ideas if the model is available elsewhere or could be extracted from this implementation to preserve cat making for all eternity?

The devious idea I had was what if a new model was trained on Cats' works? Perhaps that would open a wormhole to the cat dimension?

A cat really is just a cat, regardless of size. The only reason housecats don't tend to try and eat us is that they realize the size difference would make it very difficult. It's also the reason man never tried to domesticate a cat larger than a housecat, They are too independent minded for humans to have around once they are large enough to potentially take a human down, and it takes a much proportionately smaller cat to take down a human that is larger than them. The larger the cat the less they tend to listen to people, and I can't blame them for that.

My family's new kitten is a good example of the independent minded nature of cats, even at the housecat size. Little 3 lb kitten, comes up and just lets out the loudest little mew she can near your face to let you know she is bored, or hungry, etc... A kitten has no trouble telling an organism 65x her size that they need to move their ass and do what she wants and/or get her what she needs right at that moment in time. If you don't do it she just literally gets right up in your face and repeats her mew until you do what she wants. It's hilarious.

Of course, kitten tax is paid:

@EmpGulcasa This may be too personal of a question, but did you ever find out the method of suicide he did or would've done? I saw on his obit that he is a father, I hope his children didn't see his dead body if he shot/hung himself at home.
I imagine what you want to know is if it was some means that would make the thing seem less grotesque or peaceful or whatever. But if the answer was ugly you wouldn't really want it and if the answer was nice it wouldn't really make it any better. I say this because I wondered the same thing.

No details like that, sorry. I doubt his kid would have seen anything though. One of the big things that had him in such a dark place was a split with a woman I never knew who basically left with his kid and his (then) cat. He never got over that as far as I know and he never mentioned being in regular contact with them.
Imagine being Cats' woman and leaving.
