Bobby is in a drunken stupor.

"Shylock" drama. Trump chose the wrong way out.

The right ways out are 1) pointing out "Shylock" is an established part of the English lexicon and the jewish connotation has receded, just as no one nowadays thinks "vandalism" is a slur against Central Europeans. 2) drawing attention to the "only some bankers are Shylocks" part.

How dare my elderly parents made me take care of them!!!!!

Yes, taking care of relatives can be exhausting, and there aren't enough support for carers. You should be allowed to vent in a private, supportive company, but ruminating over "Why me?" would only make your task even more unpleasant.

When is Moviebob not in a stupor?

As per Mirriam-Webster, the word shylock has two other definitions: As a noun, shylock refers to a loan shark; as a verb, shylock refers to lending out monies at high interest rates.

...2) drawing attention to the "only some bankers are Shylocks" part.
See above.

I'm surprised Bob even read The Merchant of Venice.

There's no way in HELL I will ever believe he ever read anything more than a Wikipedia entry on it.
If there's any version of The Merchant of Venice (a play I have neither read nor seen performed, as a disclaimer) that Moviebob's seen, it's probably the one-off gag from The Critic in which Keanu Reeves is cast as Shylock. "Hath not a dude eyes? If you prick us, do we not get bummed? If we eat bad guacamole, do we not blow chunks?"

MovieTardPig is less intelligent than a toadstool.
Obvious statement is obvious.

Yeah, don't award him points for something that a vast majority of people his age "know" through cultural osmosis....

I never read that play either, but, as far back as high school knew that was a derogatory term for a usurious person (though I didn't know what "usury" was at the time but could intuit the concept insofar as it was an unethical practice conducted by the kind of guy who runs a shady used car lot).

Same way I "knew" that holding a skull in your hand meant you could say "Alas, poor "X" , I knew him well!" and get a laugh.

Or "Out! Out! Damn spot!" would also get a laugh if uttered in stressful situations. It wasn't until years later I learned it was an allusion to mental breakdown after you fail to get away with Regicide.

well some games, were miscoded buggy trash (like E.T.) although some of the in-game bugs were fun - like the teleporting tank trick in Combat.
The Daffy Duck is Arkle (which we haven't seen in Bobby's mention for a while). I don't know what a Red Mage looks like; googling it doesn't ring a bell.
The Red Mage icon that ElectricLightSocketTastesShocking is using comes from a NES game called Final Fantasy.

Blighty. "Referendum should have been repeated".
Brexit wasn't the disaster source. Mark fucking Carney and the WEF was. Britain going "green" on WEF/Carney's behest caused energy prices in UK to SKYROCKET. This had fuck-all to do with Brexit.

The future of movies sounds even more awful than before. Billionaires whinging about how nobody cares about their movies even as they rake in billions. Miss me with that.

One thing that's been bothering me in Moviebob's videos lately are when he plays that solemn, somber song in the background as if to imply grandeur to his words. It's so pretentious. I feel nothing other than contempt when I hear it. Bob wouldn't need it if the things he said were actually profound.

Also, I love how he says movie critics don't matter, even him. It fails to accomplish him taking down the other movie critics with him and just gives us reasons not to watch him. Quite the own-goal there. No wonder his views are consistently dropping.
oh you mean the high-brow-sophisticated-sounding Saxophone-dominant theme he uses for The Big Picture? It's basically pretentiousness incarnate, as exhibited by Kenny G.

The only "bug" in E.T. isn't even a bug, it's just that they didn't give a lot of leeway to escape a pit because of how fallingin one works. Even then, the manual states clearly enough the best way to get out of a pit. The general public was pretty OK with it at the time and there were far shittier games if you're using that one as the bar.

I still don't really know where the "worst game in the world" line comes from, aside from people who never owned a console til long after less limited machines came out. Actually, probably someone like Blobert.

That's 99% of it, I believe.

Applying modern sensibilities to places modern sensibilities didn't exist.

Again, as someone who was there? It just can't really be understood that video games at the time were such a novelty that the fact you could control a blip on a TV screen was enough to justify their purchase. Especially since the target market for these things were kids. Who as any good parent knows? Can drive an adult insane with the repetition of simple things they find fun.

Not only did these people never own these early consoles? They were born into a world where a technically solid game that didn't crash and did at least something if you pushed a button was not enough.

By the early 90's there was already a growing expectation that games had to have some story behind them, or had to impress beyond the code.

So much so that the schism that broke up the OG Id Software was a dispute between the two camps of programmers over what was more important in a game going forward. Technical competency and complete design soundness (Carmack) or art direction and "attitude"? (Romero).

Anyone born after Doom swept the world and became a cultural touchstone just can't fathom that there was a time when controllers had one button and "shoot the blue blobs with the red blob until time runs out" was the premise of a game, and nothing more was expected.

Mafia loansharks often refer to their business as "shy," and those are all run by greaseball dagos (who, to be fair, are just Jews with better food).

i love that we're back to the "he said an obscure antisemetic word" when he sucks off israel and leftists outright call for the death of jews to their old jewish college professors
the subhuman mongoloid who let a chicken rot in a plastic bag TOTALLY reads Shakespeare you guys
if he had read it he'd have compared some of its characters to the MCU by now

The man who couldn't even be bothered to proof read his own book TOTALLY reads Shakespeare you guys.

He should do a livestream where he reads the book start to finish and explains what he was actually talking about when he gets to the meme bits. It'd be funny to see how long he goes before he realizes just how cringe it is. Or if he gets to the end without ever understanding why people were mocking it. More likely the latter.

There was a fairly recent big screen adaptation of Merchant with Al Pacino as Shylock and Jeremy Irons as Antonio. I don't remember who played Portia (because who cares?). If Bobby saw the film I'd down a Mountain Dew chicken in one go.

I don't think Bob even saw the Shakespeare parody on Sesame Street.

If the film doesn't air in his local area's big shopping mall cinemas or commented about by the internet at large, it might as well not exist to him.

The porkfuck is not a serious cinema and culture connoiseur. He is just a trend-chaser, and not even a competent one at that. And yet he pretends to have this air of medium knowledge that few possess.

But you see, his Media Studies degree from his local community college makes him better than the untermensch at understanding the latest Capeslop, chud.
