With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

I'm not a dan-stan but I tried to accurately summarize the 80 mins. Loosely chronological, but if they repeated stuff I loop back and just filled out a prior point with more info. Tried to keep my commentary in parentheses.

Notes:
  • Fishtank was Dan's first time being off on his own (sounds like implying away from parents)
  • First time being blackout drunk, does not remember the door incident with Jet at all.
    • He just turned 21, never had access to unlimited alcohol before, just wanted to "dwink to dwink"
    • Best dwink is Dr Pepper and Whiskey (mixed by Chris)
  • Reviewing fish
    • Aryeh: liked him but as the days went on started to not like him. Aryeh is extroverted and start to annoy him by S2 house
    • Deewench: liked because she kept everyone together and high spirits.
      • However, too often was trying to get staff attention and show off: "She was trying to be protagonist."
      • Regrets not getting revenge for her beating him with a stick.
        • Wanted to "wing" the bell but felt the bunker arc required teamwork.
    • Seth: got along best with him by the end of the show.
      • Picks Jerry over Seth.
    • Freddy: saw him as the uncle of the group (what kind of uncle?)
      • Kept everyone "fed and clean."
      • Admits drunk Fred >> drunk Dan.
      • Dan brags he is top stox over Fred now that "the people control the stox and not the whales"
    • Ellie: at first she seemed so fake.
      • After getting drunk he got soft on her and started to care about her (?)
    • Racheal: likes that she had a younger autistic brother, but wanted her to participate more.
    • Jin: enjoyed talking with him at first, but glad Seth took his place.
      • Has been DMing Jin post show.
      • Thought Jin's ejection was a gas light, and worried staff wanted him out next.
    • Angelina: mysteriously skipped when listing all the fish
      • 50 minutes later says he will not contact her, but if she contacts him he will talk (virgin rage never dies).
  • Says basement confessional will come out, and says S4 episodes will come out.
    • Thinks turn around will be quick since it's such a short season
  • He does not think the move from S1 to S2 was planned.
    • He thinks it was supposed to happen later in the season if it was supposed to happen at all.
  • Is a Josie-stan, and liked Jimmy and Tay.
    • Has connected with Jimmy post show. Jimmy is his favorite fish, and S2 is his fav.
  • Aware of wigger-gate.
    • Said the finale sign-off was sincere.
    • They were going to start live streaming again but then abruptly turned into a cancellation.
    • Claims the cameraman were already filming some stuff for the edited version, and only found out an hour before going live.
  • Fish had phones the first night in S3 house (after getting kicked out of the S2 basement), then taken away in the morning.
    • He was reading and found out the audience was turning on him and he needed to reactive "dark Daniel."
  • He would buy into S5.
    • Doubt he'll have 8k in his bank account.
    • Dan thinks buy back was not a joke in contrast to Aryeh (the great autist vs autist debate).
    • ~"That didn't sound like gaslight sam, because he was not in the goldstriker outfit."
  • S3 wasn't used because of fears of the town going after them.
    • Decided not to "fwight the walw."
  • S2 house was going to be a RPG like adventure (but wasn't planned?)
    • At first only floor 1 unlocked
    • Jimmy was supposed to be heavily involved.
  • His application process was rushed.
    • They decided to skip the in-person interview saying they were just going with their gut.
  • Ellie and Drench road trip was not offered to Daniel.
    • Does not think that Jet was trying to fuck Ellie (proof of autism)
  • Never said nigga, refuses to say it still
  • Does not feel production nerfed him.
    • He justifies his nontent as:
      • He was being himself
      • Didn't listen to TTS advice because he thought they were fucking with him
      • Was scared of being teamed up on.
    • He ignored his low stox, thought it was just gas lighting.
    • During the cell given too many creative challenges, losing the first few demotivated him and spiraled him.
  • Upon reflection does not feel he was gas lighted about a lot, but was upset to find out Seth stole his candy.
  • Claims no BG, indefinitely delayed. Got more locations they are looking at.
  • He was glad it ended, he found out who he was and that he has fans.
    • Glad he dodged Frank.
  • Wants to clarify that he has resting bitch face, and he was NOT moping around (seemed really important to him to shout out at the end)

As always, you can count on redditors to have absolutely no clue what they are purchasing or what they are talking about.

Buying a season pass gives you access to website features. That's it. There is no guarantee of a show being streamed on the website, never has been, never will be. There has been no breach of contract. If these retards bothered to read the page before clicking the buy button (or the terms of service), they would understand that.

If you paid the wiggers money they are under no legal obligation to run the show. You paid for vods and tokens on a website. If by some miracle a class action is brought it will be laughed out of court.

AB did another one of her surveys about fish popularity. I know ill get responses saying its just the twitter audience and very obvious recency bias, but still interesting data. I hope she does this same survey in a couple months when people have had more time to digest season 4 and the rose tinted glasses start to fade. Other obvious faults in the data are no options to not rate a fish if you didn't see their season, or to not give a rating if you had no opinion on them. Also that this time unlike how she usually does her polls, you do not get access to the raw data after you submit your response, so numbers like how many responses the survey got are not available. Usually they get a couple thousand responses though.

1, or closer to 1 = people who like one fish tend to like the other fish
-1 or closer to -1 = people who like this fish tend to dislike the other fish
Redder numbers = opposed fish, greener = linked fish

Didnt realize we have had 39 fish so far, seems like such a large number.
Interesting Correlations:
People who like Luke a lot tend to shit on absolutely everyone else
Shinji:TJ:Luke:Seth:Vance is a bloc
Payton fans went on to like Ellie but didn't like JC as much
Liking Letty correlates most with liking Binx(stinx)
Liking Vance correlates more strongly with disliking Rachel than liking Luke correlates with disliking Simbal
Obviously Freddy, D'wrench and most obviously Aryeh get a big bump from being the most recent season, and i find it very surprising that Jon is down in 14th, i know hes kinda blown himself up recently but hes still a large part of fishtank and i thought he was liked more. People usually include him in their top 5 from what ive seen discussed here.
If this poll was done again in the future i would assume Letty would go down a place or two, Fred would lose a couple, and D'wrench and Aryeh would be off the top 8 list

Another point that kinda throws this off is that season 4 was only 2 weeks, fish didnt really get the proper amount of time to show themselves off, like after 6 weeks i think everyone would have gotten sick of Aryeh. D'wrench was obviously burnt out hard when the show was scrapped. Dan was WAPED. Freddy probably would have done something to get kicked off or production would have to had saved him, again, and that probably would have affected his popularity. Ellie has said in IG lives that she was pacing herself and planned to ramp up further into the show, all of the season 4 fish probably benefit in terms of popularity because people dont have to directly compare the fish to what they did, they can just compare them to "what could have been".
