WTF is even happening in the Senate? How many Senators besides Thune are nuking their careers just to protect the parliamentarian?
Tin-foil: I recall Brendan Herrera of all people mentioning politicians being pissy at the 2A crowd shortly after they didn't settle for the original $0 tax proposal.
How much of this is being done out of spite for their voter bases wanting actual action instead of hollow promises? Either way, at least it can be sued out of existence now (unless the courts argue some BS like the $0 tax is still a tax just one that costs nothing). I really hope Trump declares Total Rhino Death for the Senate, and Elon actually goes through primarying as many people as possible since their replacements will be extremists.

I do not like his cuts to NIH research grants. Some of those fund meaningful research that can also serve as an introduction for researchers to get private industry jobs.
Agreed 100%. Also NIH research grants help us stay ahead of the world in medical research and will possibly fuck us down the line as the world leader in that. China will be happy to capitalize on that I am sure

China has relied on foreign research grants for their own medical research, so I do not seem them picking up the slack. Many US researchers who lost grant money are now moving to Europe, which is even more competitive when it comes to getting research funding.

The real issue is that a few major researchers and institutions in the US suck up all the research funding, leaving crumbs (or nothing) for everyone else. Because these researchers/institutions are pedigreed, there is nothing to be done about it - young researchers/academics cannot call this out or go up against it without having their careers snuffed out.

The Chinese research system is plagued with fraud and abuse. Theres pressure to create something out of nothing with tons of paper mills. The reason why they sent people over to the US was to stay above the fray of their own messy system. Its economic and academic arbitrage. Kicking them out and pulling NIH funding won't effect the US in the long term.

Johnson isn't even stopping him. Hakeem gave him a perfect excuse to take another graceful defeat and kill Trump's agenda.
wait, I thought we weren't getting a vote today, or at all. WHAT HAPPENED ??? Treat me like i'm retarded, what do it mean.

I wouldn't care if the NIH funding cuts only hurt the commies, but they are broader than that.
