Finland was one of the locations that had the most signatures prior to Ross’s video regarding Thor so quite a few of those signatures were there before all this kicked off. Lotta those Scandy countries play online games that remain up for decades after their time. Stuff like Trackmania that you can still mod and make content for even tho there’s been two or three iterations of it at this point. I wouldn’t be surprised if this initiative hit home with them.

And on Thor saying “this kind of bad publicity outright kills indie games” to a completely trivial amount of negative reviews. No. Heartbeat (not to be confused with Thor’s game) made by two lovely lesbians got review bombed five times as hard by troons because the devs bad mouthed troons (they have Chris Chan references in game and are cool cats). They addressed it with Steam who was very good about verifying reviews and deleting the obvious fake ones, and made booku bucks when they put the game on sale immediately for 41% off. If you just work with Steam to get rid of the bad reviews and urge your actual players to leave a quick review bad reviews don’t even impact your game. If I’m checking reviews and the negatives say “hurr durr gnome in the ass” I’m gonna ignore those reviews because they do they tell me about the game? No, they don’t.

Imo it’s Thor’s own medicine. After all saying stuff like “this dude is a used car salesman eat my ass” just “outright kills grassroots movements.”

Not since Trump in 2016 has there been a more perfect excuse to make a montage with this song. Along with a "tumbling down" edit of Jason. Honestly think that even without Jason's absolute dog shit take this campaign would still have had this outcome. The desire to not have things you bought vanish is the type of "common sense" laws people talk about often. All it took was for the timer to hit the final two minutes before larger personalities on the sidelines noticed and stepped up because before they probably assumed the thing would pass without much help. Jason as the villain helps create funny memes and make the whole process a more entertaining story.
