his response about talking to josh and association with kiwifarms in general

Honestly, kudos to him, this was more than a reasonable response.

The main thing that matters is that the initiative gets all the damn signatures it can, while it still can, and that means being able to convince normies—who very likely won't think of the forum favourably the moment they hear its name—that they should have no qualms whatsoever in signing and backing it. Talking to Null while this is still underway could be a massive foot-gun for him in that regard, and I'd rather he didn't bog himself down with having to deal with even that small bit of association with our shitposting here so far.

If there's an off-chance that Ross is even reading this thread directly at all, I can only suggest to him that he stay focused and try to keep as clean a record as he can on his own merit. "Eyes on the prize" indeed.

I'm a newfag, who is this guy? and if he's a faggot, why is he a mod on Ross' channel?
I invite you to read the forum's very own thread for Tyler McVicker.

I'm afraid some retards will still give him shit for thanking KF. Man, Ross is just way too nice. I wouldn't even be mad if, for the sake of the campaign, he simply told us to fuck off. But instead, he took the time to explain that it's just because we're too controversial, and not necessarily an evil forum like people say.

I am also partly afraid of that, but I'm also willing to wager that because he is just that nice, people will at most try to urge him to reconsider that thanks rather than immediately demonise him. He did say he wasn't 100% aware of the forum, so even if people do say the usual about us and he goes "oh, I didn't know that, that sounds awful," then that still averts some of the crisis.

He acted quite well not knowing anything about farms... But hypothetically he knows just fine.
At least it looked like he does. I doubt this polite rejection will cause him or initiative trouble. He plays that highroad and genuine kinda guy role so well.

And as noted above Gamingcirclejerk trannies are supporting this and I bet some of them have already seen it on front page of Farms as well.

With how internet people look for a way to start arguments I wouldn't be surprised if someone takes his hypothetical of the farms doing nothing wrong as his opinion. The initiative seems to have the mandate of heaven right now so I'm not too worried about a one off like this.

He's 100% doing the smart move here. Besides KF is already promoting him as it is on front page. It's best it stays at that. The outreach needs to be focused elsewhere. Enough people are gonna need to hear this in their language.

Honestly this issue is one where unless you have a vested interest in it you're on the side of "I bought it, I own it, I should be able to use it when I want, whenever I want" regardless of political stance or anything for the most part imo.

Plus everyone's getting burnt out of all the subscription bullshit, that's just been piling up for the last two decades and has gotten exponentially worse in the last like 4 years.

Edit: Also Nintendo and Microshit jumping games up to $80 with nothing ever showing a real reason why other then pure greed, thats even woke some normies up to the shit it seems.

Sorry if I'm too autistic to pick up that you're shitposting, but that story is false, and the gaming lore equivalent of Mald's credentials.

I didn't realize he made Freeman's Mind until someone mentioned it here.

Now you know!

Good news, gang. Animus is almost 99% done again. He has been working on it every day for the last three years, but he hasn't been working on it because he's been dogpiled, but now he's working on it right now! Let me tell you what's going to happen after Animus which will never happen.

Animus is 95% complete BTW (in 2022).

Dang this guy really is on par with YandereDev.
  • Both can't handle criticisms and blames trolls for delaying development time
  • Both got a lot of initial hype which should have helped push development but are both now scrambling to stay relevant.
  • Both are trapped in the deepest circle of development hell despite being "full-time developers" on the game for the past 10 years.
  • Both constantly giving updates claiming that they're "workin' on it" and that they're 98.99% of the way finished and that they're on track to finish the game soon(™)
At this rate I have more respect for YanDev than I do for Thor. Poor YanDev has to deal with 3D environments and making sure players can't just glitch through the wall and break things. Heartbound is a 2D game using GameMaker where the majority of the gameplay comes through the dialog and sprite art.

A game like this should not take 10+ years to finish. Deltarune has roughly a similar development cycle, but at least that game has 4 fully working chapters despite technically being in development still. Animal Well took about 7 years and that was made by 1 guy entirely in C++. Heck even OMORI only took 6 years and that game was made entirely in an old version of RPGMaker with practically zero real programmers on the team.

I know that game development is never easy, but this game is too deep into development hell that even if it does come out it will never be great. Judging by gameplay alone there's not enough to justify how long it's taking to develop with the resources he has.

Yandev also claims much less programming experience.

even the non-english speakers are getting in on it.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=l3E2x4ZL-sIYou know you fucked up when there's a universal language that brings nations together.
Its like Xcom except instead of Aliens its a stupid wannabe indie developer gay furry.
there is not a single brown man on this planet that speaks (not English) that would make a video defending mald in their dirt language.
it's beautiful in a way, I hit translate and it's very close to things I would see on any other anti mald video in English.

reading "he's not actually a notable blizzard programmer, his dad just hired him to get coffee for him" in spanish is really heart warming.
It doesn't matter what race or nationality, when they see Mald speak, all have the righteous need to unite and fucking Dunk on him for being such a Bitch.

What they both truly share in common is that they both care less about making a game and care far more about being seen as a "Game Dev". In a previous generation Thor would have been the kind of guy to haunt every bar in Greenwich Village or Soho talking about the mega novel he's been working on for the past decade. Show your work or shut up.

If I'm remembering correctly... Global variables can introduce security concerns within programs... So why does nearly program "he made" that I hear him talk about always use a global of something??? Isn't he supposed to be a security expert?

Then he says "refute without attacking me" like he just didn't do that to Ross. What a fucking hypocrite.
Theoretically speaking security is mostly a non-issue in single player games. AFAIK the biggest concern is junk data ending up in your globals and causing a crash. He said before he does it because he wants the game to be hackable but it'd be 10x easier to just put that data in a config file.

AFAIK the biggest concern is junk data ending up in your globals and causing a crash.
Realistically, it's largely just a code cleanliness thing - the cleaner and more contained your code is, the easier it is to work with in the future, the more readable it is, and the less likely you are to code yourself into a corner where you're stacking exceptions on exceptions just to get something functional. Nevermind as well the fact that unclean code makes it harder for you to know what the hell something is even meant to do, where its focus should be constrained and where it shouldn't be used (because things being able to touch other things they're not supposed to is a great way to break your program). Sticking things unnecessarily in global scope epitomizes giving yourself rope with which to hang yourself.

Or, in a different manner of speaking, writing dogshit code makes it slower and more aggravating to code more within the same project. It slows you down significantly and causes a lot of trouble that requires you to waste time doing extensive refactoring, nevermind the fact that the thought of dealing with bad code makes it harder to motivate yourself to work. So, basically, it's almost certainly a large part of why Jason never seems to get anything done. Writing cleaner code makes you code faster, and the inverse is true.
