every gamer with "restraint" is out-bought by a factor of 100:1 of normies and niggers breaking down the doors of Best Buy to purchase the newest Call of Duty.
yh... thats the point of my message...?
Why is it always the pink names?
what does the colour of my name have to do with the argument of the libertarians are wrong about believing this is solvable with out the government?
you are saying what i just said. its almost as if you didn't actually read what i was saying.

in the wise words of BRabbit: "Didn't you listen to the last round, meat head? Pay attention, you're saying the same shit that he said!"

Ross deserves all of his roses, his content is among the top quality on all of YouTube (at least for content about media). For his efforts to be counter signalled (with lies) by an asshole like Pirate Software is atrocious. Anyone who still engages with or support Pirate Software is a retard.

Give me all the :optimistic: but I hope it will be about SKG.

If he'd have presented this as is main reasoning from the very beginning and his only hesitation going forward, I highly doubt he'd have this much push back. Fuck's sake.
Pro-SKG can hate him for smearing their side and and Anti-SKG can hate him for making their side look retarded.
Everyone can find a reason to hate Jason, and I think that's beautiful.

I know I'm a tourist - didn't think Thor had a thread, I just ignored his shit when his shorts came up and scrolled to the next one - but if Pewds of all people actually endorses SKG, then I can see it hitting it's goal at warp speed knowing his fanbase.

I'd just hope the site could survive that kinda traffic. And - per quickly skimming the thread - would love to be a fly on the wall the second Mald gets mentioned in the video...

"Think like a dev" is a phenomenon among entertainment bootlickers that happens way too fucking often. Ironically, the only people who "think like devs" are console fanboys, brand fanboys, and people who actually enjoy skinnerbox concepts like gacha and battle passes and beg for them to be added to more games. Nobody in the industry whose role involves actually programming shit or making assets actually thinks "Like a dev".
Mald thinks devs think like publishers. I doubt many devs have much interest to have their hard work disappear off the face of earth because a publisher thinks there's money to made by doing it

I'd be more comfortable with approaching Indvidual devs on this than asking the government to step in. On this, I am actually on PirateSoftware's side. Absolutely. If he'd have presented this as is main reasoning from the very beginning and his only hesitation going forward, I highly doubt he'd have this much push back. Fuck's sake. The government literally had Zoe Quinn and a couple of her orbiters go to the UN and cry about their self-inflicted "oppression". Do you REALLY trust the government that much to regulate something that they don't really give much of a shit about in the first fucking place?
You can't be serious. "Individual devs" have no control over what the companies and publishers who own the rights do.

Eeerm....acktually, source code and documentation are both covered copyright, so releasing those things to the public would be a hecking violation of the developer's intellectual property rights. Imagine a poor, small indie company having to shut down their game because they can't afford the servers, and now having to release all their source code. And it turns out that small company had actually written some of the most revolutionary netcode the world has seen, and now the evil big corpos can gobble it up for free, all because the original devs couldn't pay their server costs and had to release their intellectual property to the public as a punishment. Is that really what you want to do? Force all these small indie companies to release their incredible custom libraries for the evil companies like Epic to steal.
It's all for the little guy that we need to resist any type of consumer advocacy.

I seriously doubt releasing the source code after your project flopped is actually hurting anyone's bottom line and if small developers can repurpose cutting edge open source material it is actually a net positive for the industry as a whole.

get pissed off every time i hear him talk about "i don't want the government in games" when he is aggressive pro-IP law. government in games is perfectly fine when they're on your side but not the consumer's you fuckin fraud.

If this was his stance, nobody would think about it again after the moment it left his lips, because it's toothless and challenges nothing. Change doesn't come about from doing nothing, and that's what your proposal would amount to. Make no mistake, what SKG is asking for isn't free, in terms of money or time - though I agree wholeheartedly that it should be part of the cost of doing this type of business. If you just kindly ask publishers (not devs, they don't make these kind of calls) to implement this kind of change, maybe one in a hundred will do it because they see it as a positive for their brand, but the other 99 will laugh you out of the room. It certainly wouldn't start a trend.

Protecting the people from abuse is one of the few legitimate responsibilities of government. Inept and inefficient as government is, it is absolutely within their job description to regulate something like this.

They don't even need to release the source, so long as they have proper documentation of the server process flow, that would go a really long way in getting a way to revive the game - people could make their own bespoke clone services without having to awkwardly reverse engineer the system if they aren't willing or able to release binaries. I'm sure Jason would still find some way to bitch about that.

I've actually thought about this with TikTok. It is possible, however. It's a bit tricky. You would need to have a service (a VPN or dedicated server) that's always running 24/7, you need a constant proxy list so you don't get IP banned, someway to shift through not being identified as a bot/geniune traffic, and in theory, it should be possible.
U know if this problem exist with rumble or maybe another streaming platform. Could also be on douyin if we can stream there. Im thinking of this since mald "ISP" stopped working lel. Setting up a rasberry pi which restreams malds stream + his chat and then archive it
