On the subject of Stephen Fry and his history with teenagers and young boys. I was a fan of his back in the day, in his Twitter days, and there were things he did in that time that now stand out to me when I look at his odd behavior, that everyone else, including his die hard fans ignored. (People I no longer associate with because they were basically stalkers, but that's a whole other story.)
Looking back on it, he did a lot of public behavior that should have gotten him in trouble, because he never hid any of it, yet nobody cared. One thing I remember for certain: he followed a lot of teenage boys, and all of it wasn't hidden. I remember one time, he invited that Charlieissocool YouTuber when he was underage to go see QI and meet him backstage, and there were photos of it for everyone to see. I've heard stories about him inviting teenagers more than once.
One huge red flag in my fan days with him was the time he followed a teenage boy in 2014 maybe, it was a long time ago. But the guy was clearly underage, IIRC, he was 14. The guy was obviously starstruck and even publicly flirted with Stephen in public, and Stephen replied to him more than once.
The creepiest part were the DM's. Stephen kept DMing a 14 year old, and the kid was posting them all for the public to read. Stephen eventually stopped talking to him.
But nobody said anything about how creepy it was that a man his age was DMing a teenager. And that kid wasn't the only teenager he DM'd. He's DM'd a lot of gay teenage kids. Unfortunately I can't find the old tweets because I forgot the guy's name. But I did witness that stuff a long time ago.
Edit: I found them.
Can you give examples of when he has outed himself as you say? It wouldn’t surprise me either, especially as it seems every week another person working at the BBC is guilty of something, but without proof it comes across as gay bashing. I’ve seen GCs point to his husband being 28 as evidence, like what?? If he is hiding something and it’s ever revealed, people would be angry about it - look at Hugh Edwards.
The QI outtake for season one comes to mind. I'd have to do some deep searching, but Stephen made some offhand comment disguised as a joke about kissing teenagers, or preferring kissing them because they are "smoother."
Even the other QI panelists looked disgusted by that.
