Considering the evil their ideology allows to blossom, you might imagine neoliberals are ghouls, but they can be very sympathetic. Unfortunately, their sympathy is strangely misplaced. They won’t shed a tear for the 73 million children killed each year by abortion. But they do memorialize roadkill:

In her “Roadside Memorial Project,” the Kentucky-based artist and activist L. A. Watson has been creating reflective silhouettes of animals, which she installs among the grass in the verges of roads in her home state wherever an animal of that species has been run over. They function both as a warning sign to drivers and as a memorial to the dead individual in question. …

In a similar project, the eco-artist Brian D. Collier builds roadside shrines for animals, complete with the date of death and a color picture of the deceased, akin to the ones we sometimes see erected along the road for people who have lost their lives in traffic accidents.

Bram Koese of Holland goes farther, having enlisted 25 assistants to help out in his roadkill memorial activities:
Together they assembled not one but 642 roadside shrines. … Each cross would come to represent a separate roadkill exactly at the spot where it had taken place. The name of the species and the date of its demise were stenciled on the crossbeam, and a picture of the live animal was placed next to a QR code that led to the record on the Observation International website, where a photo of the animal in its flattened state could be viewed.

Just in case Dutch motorists cannot find a better use for their time.

If anyone tried doing the same for aborted children in the Netherlands, they might be thrown in prison.

"Hey I'm going to attack your nuclear sites, you should get your people out of there"
"Splendid, thank you for the warning, I'm going to retaliate at these spots in a few days, you should move too"
"Thank you good sir"
"Kindly!"

and now we've got this.

don't get me wrong, I'm very glad we've seemed to have avoided WW3 or GWOT2 Electric Boogaloo, but let's be honest, we probably just hit a few empty bases and whatever nuclear material Iran has (as well as their technology) was moved off site thanks to our forewarning, and Iran just shot a few missiles into the desert not hitting anything in response.

What was even the point of this gay little charade?

Are you aware of how big the equipment is? They didn't move that.

The magic of these facilities being +200ft underground is that anyone speaking of and using the status of either of those things to make a point is assuredly blowing smoke up your ass.
Well, apparently they also moved the uranium out beforehand, so the IAEA admits that they have no idea where it is. In other words: Lol!

LMAO even.

We’ve gotten to the point where even the POTUS admits that all this is theater. Jesus Christ man!

Remember that feeling in Jan and Feb that this was a transformative presidency and Trump had really learned the lessons from the first term.

Fuck, guess that was cope.

He has learned nothing. He’s contradicting his own Sec of Def and State, he’s humiliated Tulsi Gabbard (She will be out by the end of the year, mark my words.).

He’s palling around with neocons, and turning on people who are actually America Firsters like Massie and MTG, while backing and protecting RINOs like Graham.

“But Fapcop! Muh trannies! Muh illegals!”

Yeah, but for how long? Just like in the first Trump term they managed to sabotage him through internal sabotage and grinding the gears to a halt. Same thing will happen now. The neocons and RINOs are already inside the house. They’ll grind the actual positive things Trump 2.0 are doing to a halt, and push out effective non-RINOs and they’ll succeed because Trump will let himself get distracted by every shiny thing they’ll dangle in front of him, like Iran.

Don't lay it on so thick when trolling, supporting MTG like then when bitching about MAGA is more of a dead troll giveaway than the Babelfish for God's existance. Boooo, lazyyyy.

i started seeing retards on tiktok call trump taco trump and i have absolutely no idea what its supposed to mean
I'd actually appreciate an explanation of this, too. I noticed some protestors holding TACO signs in Lou Gagliardi's thread the other day, and I thought they were just expressing solidarity with Mexico or something.

Iran retaliated though, there is no benefit for your average American to randomly bomb Islamic theocracies

im so proud of my president for standing up for israel!

I personally don't give a shit whether we do or do not help Israel. But a limited bombing campaign of relatively low cost and relatively low risk to American life is worth it to stop another bunch of crazies from getting the bomb. Assuming the scenario is true that they were working on it.

I really don't understand how people can suddenly be so up in arms about taking a couple extremely easy steps to prevent their backyard from becoming a mushroom cloud in a few years but completely gungho about a far more expensive proxy war in Ukraine with a much vaguer set of benefits for us.

Not so much people here I guess but the redditurds are out in full force against this after shilling Ukraine for years.

.....their version of the burger suit??

i dunno

So what is the consensus view here? From the pictures released thus far, this whole thing seems to be nothing but political theater to me. Trump waited for Iran to move all their centrifuges and uranium, then we bombed some entrance tunnels, ignored all surface structures, and didn't even attempt to penetrate the actual nuclear facility. Even that cringe "Topgun: Maverick" plot thing Fox was pushing was bullshit, the MOPs didn't fall into the same crater for more penetration. Even the Iranian missile retaliation is empty theatrics.

These were the safest places in Iran to locate the centrifuges. If they were removed from those locations, they will eventually be destroyed at some other location.

Destroying the actual Uranium was always going to be utterly impossible. Whatever Iran already has, they have and nothing really would change that. The best that could be done is to damage their most secure facilities as much as possible and to potentially have damaged their existing centrifuges.

How much damage has been to the facilities. Truth is, nobody who knows that is talking to the public. But there are alot of people out there who will claim that they know everything.

Its always been the case that there is no way at all to permanently stop the Iranian nuclear program. Bombing isn't going to destroy the Uranium they already have. Whenever the bombing stops, they can reconstruct whatever has been destroyed. There is nothing difficult about making a nuclear weapon if you have the things Iran has.

To keep the Iranians out of production by force is going to require a periodic bombing campaign that will go on forever. But that is probably the only option on the table right now. Iran now has enough material to make a handful of bombs. The question now isn't preventing Iran from having "a" bomb. Its a question of how many bombs they are going to be allowed to have.

The last time the US tried to deal with this problem, we got the Obama deal which bribed the Iranians with planeloads of cash, agreed to Iran having everything it wanted openly after about ten years and promised the Saudis that they could have their own nuclear program. The Obama deal was in every respect worse than the bombing campaign.

But realistically all of this is way too late. Iran is now a nuclear country and in the long run, American policy toward Iran is likely to weaken at some point in the future after Trump. Iran has also proved that it has capacity to drop some missiles on the major cities of Israel regardless of any defense system. And statistically if those missiles had nuclear weapons in them, the major cities of Israel could be hit with them.

So in the end, as usual, its meaningless. It doesn't matter. All that what has been will accomplish is changing the topic of conversation in the mainstream media from ICE to this.
