100%. Also, Alberta is closer to the US-Mexican border than it is to Ottawa so they wouldn't be able to project power against Alberta if they do leave.

big step? it crosses the last mile. If the PM's cabinet can suspend any law then they have de-facto full control over the government. they can suspend the law for calling snap elections, and they can suspend the law calling for elections every four years.

Either it will be voted down with or without a confidence vote, or Canada will cross the point of no recovery.
