Yeah it's just cursed fetish art that the artist tried to spin off as a joke to shock the talents. Issue is though he has NSFW versions of it so it's obviously a fetish, and he wanted to draw Lumi as a nugget next. The only reason why there was drama around this was because Lumi had a visceral Lumi moment threatening to ban anyone who interacts with the artist in all of the girls chats.

In the broader internet, I'd generally agree. In the more insular fan communities of vtubers, I think you can exert some reasonable control over things like this by putting your foot down. Just look at what happened with Anny and Max Wayne recently for what happens when you don't keep the retarded degenerates in line. Or that fag who does all the foot art of the Phase girls for that matter. Getting slapped down publicly will send creatures like that scurrying into the shadows and off of public TLs - at which point they're more or less marginalized and safe to ignore. Saying nothing will just be taken as tacit permission and even endorsement by these types. Now they've ensured the nugget shit is nuclear - you'd have to be asking for a ban to try them on it now.
Idk my issue is that Lumi interacted with it while it was only about Jelly, making the same jokes Jelly was making about it, but as soon as the guy said he'd make one with Lumi she went full scorched earth about it. I think it is as simple as a creator having control over their audience. Lumi is under no obligation to accept anyone in the community. That's her right as a creator.
