It's actually amazing how he just manages to make things worse for himself.

Nicki's now banking on the footage never being released when he knows full well he has slobbermutt and two lawyers working pro-bono for the release on it. Add that to the fact that people already had access to it before it was revoked and it's highly likely that a higher instance will overrule the local authority. The reason why people are telling him to just release it is to get it over with so that he can - in theory - move on from it and make amends. The second best option was just staying quiet and saying nothing. Instead he's now put himself in the position where the minute the footage hits the internet, he will once again be revealed as a lying liar who lies.

He's really the epitome of a dry drunk (at best). He's actively trying to scheme and counting the days until he can resume the druggie lifestyle. He's learnt nothing, hit no rock bottom. Those poor kids.

Yes, I'm kind of uncomfortable with having that as a general principle. 'You shouldn't be able to use intoxicants because they undermine your ability to distinguish fantasy and reality.' Most people have a couple of drinks or a spliff at the end of the day to wind down and it's not a big issue.

But when your life is falling apart and everybody around you is telling you that you need to dial it back but you keep on escalating -- well. that way lies madness. I've never known anybody make it though Nick's situation without their life falling apart.

Nick can't seperate fantasy from reality both with and without the drugs. Because he's a malignant narcissist. He lives in fantasy. The drugs just make that extra dangerous.

He's been doing this shit for years, since the keffals arc when he said "Maps on the wall", then pretended he was talking about real maps. The hard counter to this is doing it right back to him. When he said he put his coke bullet in the car with his daughter in, he got really fucking specific that he put it in the door, allegedly out of reach of the child. But that doesn't make it untrue that "he left drugs in a car with a child in it."

Nick uses implications to cast uncharitable depictions of others that may cause backlash if he were direct. You're not obligated to give him the same benefit of the doubt and charitable depiction you'd give a normal person.

I completely agree, likely he's been doing this atleast since law-school. I think the keffals situation was likely something that emboldened him and probably made him think he's untouchable.
 
The saddest and most embarrassing aspect of all this is that at some point in time some of us actually thought this twit was intelligent...
