For anyone who is curious, the nearest welding gas supplier, who would have cylinders of nitrous, is 11 miles away in Wilmar. And it does have legitimate uses for things like racing and bulk whipped cream so he can probably get it by the cylinder if he wants to save money.

Can’t wait for him to show pictures from “the search” which he will eventually admit are from “a search” which will be from some ancillary visit after his parents had cleaned the house up. Maybe he’ll even inadvertently confirm that the cops have been there more than once.

I assume he will just show CPS pictures, as they probably had to show up and confirm it was cleaned? I don’t know much about CPS but I’d assume that was a sticking point.

Plus, if Nick's willing to show parts of his house himself on stream, then why should the bodycam footage stay private?

@WelperHelper99 I'm not crazy and Nitrous Oxide would make a terrible gas to use in welding right? I think where nick would get tanks of nitrous would be a party supply store.

I am laughing at the mental image of Nick trying to fit a full size pressurized gas canister into the back of the rustang, though.

I think I phrased it a little bit poorly. I agree with you that he's a midwit, someone a little bit smarter than average, somewhere in the 110-115 IQ range. You also gotta remember that he grew up in the Houston area, around all the diversity that entails, so the whole 'smarter than his peers growing up thing' still tracks.

I think that what really screwed Nick more than anything in his life was his internet persona taking off, and him becoming able to turn streaming into a career. I think that, for him, what led him to the drugs, the swinging, everything else, at least at first, was pursuit of novelty. If you're a little bit smarter than most of the people around you, the ones in your actual life that you see and interact with IRL, things get boring and routine very quickly. Everything starts getting lackluster, and anything that isn't already boring to you holds a massive appeal. Drugs are especially dangerous in this sort of situation, because in addition to being a new experience, it's an experience that alters your perception. It makes things that you had written off as boring, things you'd already fully explored, novel again. There have been a number of studies done on the correlation between intelligence and an increased propensity towards experimentation with drugs for the sake of novelty, and most of them paint a similar picture. The nitrous cylinder seen on the bodycam footage really makes me think that it started out of novelty. It's not the sort of drug you try unless you either can't do anything else, due to drug testing, or you've done everything else that isn't a much harder drug, like heroin.

Same thing with the weird sex experimentation and swinging. Kayla was his high school sweetheart (I think, correct me if I'm wrong), and things had gotten stale. He'd already done so much with her that he started getting more and more extreme for the sake of novelty. The balldo sounds like a horrible idea until you picture yourself in a scenario where you're horny, you want intimacy, but you've desperate enough for something new that you haven't done hundreds of times before, so you figure "Why not, if it's not fun, we can just do something else.". Then eventually that's no longer novel, and you have to move to something else.

The streaming career fucked him because it put him into the same pattern over and over again. Yes, different cases, but he was doing the same thing, over and over again, and he started chasing novelty even harder off stream. If he had actually practiced law, I think that he would have had a bit of a drinking problem on the side, but I think that the amount of people he would have had to interact with, and the amount of research into various past cases he would have to do, would have provided enough variety that he wouldn't go chasing novelty near as hard as he did.
 
my big take away from all this is you had 4 fully grown adults all sleeping in a king bed in a room full of trash and old food and shit and sex toys, for several months, so much coke the pillows were testing positive (probably dried snot leaking out on the one day a week they slept that was laced with nostril remnants) having sex orgies with each other etc. one of them was a closeted homosexual who says he remained mostly sober for the duration and was wearing his facial hair as a goatee, one was a trailer trash crackwhore who cared more about partying for days on end than showering, one was a barred out lobo head who probably couldnt find the inner strength to shower more than once or twice a week, and one was a closeted homosexual who also was rapidly deteriorating crack ghoul with blue smurf hands and open sores all over his legs and arms. what kind of sick and sadistic smells were coming out of that damn room? what kind of depraved shit is this man?
