I’ve been in houses like Rekeita’s before and the only way the state is not up his ass is corruption and connections. We’ve covered the booze, drugs, and guns aspects but consider also:

- Exposure to endangering conditions - no reasonable way to get the children out should a house fire occur

- Unrelated, unknown adults in and out of the property at all hours - and since the children haven’t been educated normally I doubt they have the skills to identify sexual predators and seek help

It is highly likely they all have PTSD and are at higher risk for hoarding. This has been done to them by their parents.

I find it very hard to believe none of them knew the kids could hear them having orgies. Undeniably the children are the biggest victims in any of this. Nick pretends it's all hunky dory, and that it was just a "bad summer". But we don't know what's going to happen next. We don't know what's going to happen to a girl who's 9th birthday was spent watching officers bash her door down and tear her life apart. We don't know what'll happen, and how it'll effect their lives, all because Nick decided to let his kids come to harm.
