Would be very funny though if Kiwi Farmers tilted the sheriff's election in Kandiyohi County on the basis of the Sheriff engaging in unlawful and corrupt acts to hide public records.
I really dislike the idea of out of towners swooping in and trying to buy local elections. The funny thing is we probably actually could, but I don't think we should.

At worst, things like this cause incredibly hostile responses by the locals, much like Elon Musk's attempt to buy the Wisconsin Supreme Court, which was resoundingly and angrily rejected by voters.
The other thing to keep in mind is even if that these people have heard "secret stuff", that doesn't mean it's true.
It looks like much of that was what was in the bodycam notes, which Nick has more or less confirmed, and considering how little time they had to do it before it was shut down, explains why they were reluctant to be more forthcoming.

Arguably, they shouldn't have disclosed anything at all because it may be what gave Nick and the prosecutor colluding with each other the opportunity to sweep it, but that would be my main problem with it. It doesn't appear this was some sneaky attempt to be "in the know," it was something they knew was coming out soon anyway.

Still, it's a point to consider. Perhaps if some entirely legal information exfiltration is going on, just DON'T SAY SHIT ABOUT IT until it's a fait accompli. This flurry of legal activity could have been entirely a response to stuff that was swirling around on social media.

, Rekieta is still more articulate (and conniving) than the overwhelming majority of his drug addled child abusing peers
His entire repertoire is not knowing the difference between being able to technically twist the meaning of words vs actually doing that in a manner that convinces anyone. Ethan ralph had people genuinely believe him for longer than nick has and he has a much better court room track record.

People "believing" in rekieta dont actually believe him it's just daddy gives money to the zoo or the county or oh I can get streaming clout or oh I'm a boomer and kiwifarmers must be some upstart rapscallions or oh I want a degen polycule or oh I hate kiwifarms so I'll side nick. They don't believe nick doesn't abuse his kids they just don't give a fuck that he's abusing his kids and they believe they'll benefit in propping him up

Ralph had people genuinely believe him for longer which is why he had decent enough donations for years. People now are just trying to trick you into thinking they believe nick so they're not just branded as pro child abuse outright.

I'm just musing to myself, if Nick's dad pressuring the Judge to supress evidence, is the flea that bit the mouse, who chased the cat who burned down the House Mr Balldo Built. . .
Almost all court is stupid fucks who did stupid shit and played stupid games and won stupid prizes fighting with other stupid fucks who also did stupid shit and played stupid games and won stupid prizes, paying stupid fucks with stupid jobs stupid amounts of money to argue about which stupid fuck was the most stupid fuck in front of some stupid motherfucker in a robe and, sometimes, twelve stupid motherfuckers too fucking stupid to get out of jury duty.

There, I just explained all of law.

The legal process would be improved if all decisions were made by divining the signs of flocks of birds or funny looking clouds.

He did say he had some dirt on nick some time ago but wanted the cam footage to be released to have something to back up his claims.

"how crazy it is? I would say maybe 8 of 10. is not totally out there but I feel it will definitely make people still baldowashing want to distance from him, or be at arms length"

Nick may not have found out (all he does is doomscroll on twitter and shittily stream), but I'm assuming the Sheriff, DA, and Judge probably all talked at the Lion's Club or Kiwanis or whatever, and probably would have shut it down. Maybe not with quite the same urgency- like we may have gotten secondary viewings in, but before it was released.

Unless the theory on momma and Papa Rekieta funding elections bears fruit, the "not make the town look worse" somehow... is my going theory.

What a handsome kiwi post!

Couple that with his silver tongue and it's not at all hard to see how those who operate the system, routinely processing the worst society has to offer, might see a glimmer of hope in his future.
Did you read the body cam transcript?
This wanna be lawyer tried to argue about probable cause, after being presented a warrant.
He is neither smart nor charismatic.
Again why should we give the cops the benefit of the doubt?
Nick is an antagonistic criminal that is being treated like a remorseful one, and for what?
For being a first time offender?

Releasing it would have actually made the county look good (so far as I can tell cop behavior has been entirely by the book and circumspect despite Nick's yowling). Now the previously impeccable reputation of the county (at least in this case) has a lot of people thinking they look corrupt as fuck. I'm personally not going down that road, despite Minnesota's less than excellent track record, but while it may not be corrupt, it LOOKS that way.

Ralph, despite his many evil deeds, doesn't come close to the awful shit we can confirm Rekieta has done. The living conditions in the reports of the bodycam footage that a six year old had to live in are proof enough of that. Nick confirming it as accurate on twitter certainly doesn't help either.

Being a gross bastard is also Ralph's brand. Ralph going around and banging ugly women and not seeing his kids is par for the course for white trash. If he didn't make his living on the internet and this all took place in a small town or trailer park nobody would give a fuck. He wouldn't even be the worst guy in the trailer park either, probably get described as a "pretty good guy" especially if he still took regular trips to see his son and paid child support like he was shamed into doing.

Nick, on the other hand, with all of his luck in life would definitely be the talk of the town. He wasn't raised to be a degenerate, he didn't have to ruin everything, he just felt like it one day and went for it. Now he actually is the talk of his small town, he's been in news articles as the guy whose six year old tested positive for coke. His actions are the kind of awful that would make the previously mentioned worst guy in the trailer park want to kill him.

This is where my thinking is at now. Most speculation comes down to genuine shots in the dark, now that the county's reputation just took a major hit at the mere suggestion of corruption alone and their willingness to fight this case.
It's not worth thinking about now, given it almost looks like a red herring to distract from the now confirmed neglect (and even more possible) abuse of his children.

-And what DID she mean by this?

That sheriff is making my local police chief who "lost" 20kgs of cocaine that was used as evidence and then showed up to work next month with a brand new Audi RS5 seem less suspicious and corrupt.
