There is not a "charity side" to an event if the entire event's "structure" is "for profit" and you just have a charity link on the website.
What he really means is "We embarrassed ourselves by making an unprofitable event, so now we're just going to separate the two completely. But, let's try and keep the clothing of charitability on while we do everything.

Ian is still talking down to his audience and now I get it. That is a major problem of his.
For the first time in a long time, he is beneath not only his peers, not his audience, and not the subjects in his videos, but beneath people that are irrelevant. He's more hated than irrelevant, and more dependent than ever on neither being the case.
