I know plenty of people have said this before, but the only really notable thing about this particular case is that people only began to care nearly a month after he jumped, and not when something could have actually been done. Says it all, really.
In fact, I kind of wonder how this got picked up at all. This kid could just as easily have ended up a nameless component of the 41% statistic, no outcry or memery or nothing. That's almost more unsettling in my mind. Like the tree in the woods thing. Is a life even lived if no one notices you're gone?
