I came across this 2023 video on the Missy Bevers case. This guy has a background working as a surveillance footage analyst and has also covered cases such as the unsolved murder of Elizabeth Barraza.

He then got two artists to draw sketches of the killer's face and searched through mugshots of sex offenders online (a lot of sex offenders go on to become burglars after being released from prison) to see if he could find any convicted sex offenders who bore a resemblance to the killer. Eventually, he came upon a mugshot of Robert Bryan Chrismon, a sex offender who's been in prison since November 2016.

The superimposition of the two images at 39:14 and the comparison between the mugshot and the second sketch at 40:05 are pretty damn chilling.

Since it's a longer video, I'll have to watch it later when I have the time. In the video does he mention anything about Robert Crismon's height? In a lot of other videos I've seen, they estimated that the killer was on the shorter end and had a strange gait in their walk. If Crismon is under 5'5'' and has a bad hip/ankle, I'm definitely willing to believe in the possibility of him being the suspect. The big question is if it is him, then what was his connection to Missy Bevers? Maybe he was just some perverted schizo who stalked her on social media and tracked her to the scheduled fitness class at the church.

I always wondered why no one from that time-frame even mentions it to this day. Or like at all. It's like they all just believed the bs, "It was a weather balloon" explanation the government gave.

Crismon's height is 5'5 (for fellow Europoors, 165 cm). This is mentioned at 42:06.

It's still unknown if he has some kind of gait impairment. According to Arrin Stoner, he tried to get a hold of Crismon's medical information (including by contacting the prison where he's imprisoned) but was refused access to it. He's also been unable to find any video footage or photos that show Crismon from below the knee.

This is also addressed in the video but basically, AS thinks it was a burglary gone wrong and that Crismon (if he is the culprit) probably didn't have any previous connection to Missy.

Interesting. I've only had it twice and they were horrifying. Started sleeping with a face mask and sleeping on my side facing the wall thinking if it did happen I wouldn't be able to see anything because I'm right next to the wall and the mask is on.
 
One case that disturbs me is the Kari Lynn Nixon case. She was a high schooler from upstate New York who went out one night to a local convience store to buy groceries. She never made it home.

The family appeal to Unsolved Mysteries to help. In a reairing they had news because they had seen a video of New Kids on The Block performing in June of 1989. There was a girl in the video who looked like Kari. Jonathan and Jordan Knight launched a public appeal to said girl to return home and stuff. Eventually it was revealed Kari had been murdered by a four time bank robber. He raped and killed her after she left the store. The girl from the music video revealed herself on television too. Sad story all around.

I went down the rabbit hole for this one because it wasn't familiar. I won't post the entire article, but I ran across this in the Unsolved Mysteries wiki,

"He [Robert Anthony Jones] later returned to the Au Sable Forks area where he settled with his family. Every year following the murder, he took his family to the area of the grave for a picnic so he could check and see if it had been disturbed."

Holy cow. I know that area well.
It's considered Northern New York rather than upstate.
That poor girl. It's hard to believe her murderer was a family man.
 
I saw Jonathan and his brother on a new season of one of those HGTV reality show competitions where they have to renovate houses on a block. Lo and behold they appear on that Unsolved episode. Coincidence of coincidences. But holy fuck...knowing Kari's murderer fucking PICNICKING where she was slain. Pure evil. Just pure evil.

Speaking of picnicking, in another three named missing girl case there's Nyleen Kay Marshall. She was from California. She went missing in Montana after she wandered off from a family picnic. Nobody could find her. Some years later police got very crude graphic lewd messages and disgusting letters from an anonymous person who claimed to have her and was traveling with her. In the segment itself you can actually see what the letters said. I am not going to post it because it is just too vile even for my fellow farmers.

She hasn't been found. But oh wait, there's more! 'It can't get any worse rightnScarlett?!' Oh it can. Nyleen's mother Nancy was raped and murdered in a hotel room in Mexico in 1995. She was found hanging from a shower rod with her hands tied behind her back. She had been bruised and beaten and her wedding ring, watch and a bottle of perfume were missing. The money and valuables in her safe were untouched. It was also discovered that Nancy’s hotel room door had been kicked in.

If there is at least one good thing to come out of this entire case, its that it actually helped solve another. In a repeat viewing, a teacher in Washington recognized Nyleen as one of his students, when the police went to her house it was discussed she was actually another missing child named Monica Bonilla, who had been abducted by her father. She was reunited with her mother.
 
The Disappearance of Faloma and Maleina Luhk (Northern Mariana Islands)

I was reading the Marianas Variety, Micronesia's leading newspaper since 1972, when I came across an article about two missing girls, sisters Faloma and Maleina Luhk. This month was the 14th anniversary of their unsolved disappearance. A 9 and 10 year old girl were last seen waiting for the school bus. They never got on it and were never seen again. This happened in Saipan, the capital of the Northern Mariana Islands, which are actually United States territory. The islands have a population of ~50,000 and are pretty small.

On that article was this comment, suggesting the FBI/local police knew who the culprit was, but were unable to get enough evidence for an arrest:

Based on BOB's comment, it sounds like he thinks Alan Santos Aguon was the culprit. If so, he totally got away with it.

A weird one for you that's local to me:

My partner and his friends found an abandoned house off a rural road that seemed to be inhibited by vagrants. The house was full of trash, there were bible verses written on the windows, shell casings everywhere, and worryingly, a pile of womens drivers licenses. None of them remember how many but they dated back to the 80s. There was also torn up womens clothing.

The basement of the house was held shut with numerous padlocks.

At some point after 2016, it seems the RCMP found this place and it was literally scrubbed clean. The doors are all gone, the rooms gutted, ect. Only thing untouched was the garage, which still houses an old Hudson Hornet (although kids have caved the roof in and smashed the windows) in the last year or two.

I've been there and it looks like someone pressure washed the walls it's that clean. Even the window frames were popped out. Spooky shit, seems like a serial killer was out here at some point.
 
A slight update on that local house: my partner went out there back before he ever had a cellphone but the IDs ran from the 80s to the 2000s. He does remember purses and wallets too, but as they rode bikes out there (it's on a rural road that runs parallel to a highway) they never took anything.
I did take part of an old magazine from the 60s when i saw the place, it was in the garage. It's all knitting patterns, if i can find it I'll share a pic. Obviously from a previous owner.
The place it being used to store bees now, he's been by it recently.

Another local mystery: an old car, possibly 1920s-1950s, that hit a tree or something and wrapped around it. We found a frame, the chrome bumper, and an engine half buried in massive anthill. A tree has grown through the area on it where it wrapped and i wonder what it hit, although it could be the same tree (just stunted from damage). No one ever knew about it until we were snooping on an old property that the fire department wants to use for training, since we wanted to see if there was anything worth claiming.
I can actually get pics of that one if i can get back there. The old property sadly was wreckes by kids but is also pretty intact inside, there's still dishes in the cabinets and an old piano.
