Say what you like about nitrous, but short of literally asphyxiating yourself with it, which almost takes putting effort into your stupidity, it isn't going to kill you instantly, and it takes long-term extreme abuse to get its negative effects.

Almost all other inhalants have a non-zero chance of just instantly killing you, particularly duster. It's called sudden sniffing death syndrome. For some reason it just sometimes causes your heart to stop.
