Couldn't they theoretically use the construction of the golden dome to effectively militarize large swaths of the border? Like I imagine there is some legalese that would allow them to shoot intruders near such a high importance military operation or at least arrest and detain them. Plus it would give them an excuse to put more surveillance along the border.

Shut. Up. Think about what you're saying.

The Republicans were also the party, in Lincoln's day, of protectionism, traditional American religion (in the form of opposing Catholicism and Mormonism: Rum, Rebellion and Rome, the twin pillars of barbarism: slavery and polygamy), anti-immigration (not so much a policy, but the Know Nothings folded into them) and saber-rattling at Britain, the "Workshop of the World" and most threatening geopolitical rival at the moment. Contrasted against Democrats having similarly been the more religiously inclusive and pro-immigrant (endless sea of criminal, poor sectarian Irish) party.
The true heirs of Republicanism were the Paleoconservatives, but they were banished from polite political society in American by William F Buckley Jr, who was a Skull&Bones/CIA cocksucker hated by actual right-wingers. The John Birch Society was right and America won't have a solid Right Wing until the National Review and Buckley's legacy are thrown into the ash heap of history. As an aside, Trump is basically a social liberal Paleocon and one of the few people he's ever apologized to is Pat Buchanan.

I've just been considering something weird. The current most likely Republican candidate after Trump is Vance. Now a lot can happen in 4 years, and he may or may not win, but consider this: The office of the President may completely skip over Gen X.

rly makes u thnk

Vance is the same age as me (he's a few months older) and therefore I would love to see him win the presidency, and he has my vote.

However if anyone my age becomes president then I will kill myself out of sheer chronophobia.

So I'm conflicted.

as a member of gen x I have some thoughts on why we are politically absent:

1) we're not. state politics are dominated by gen x. look up who governors are. as has been pointed out the most likely possibility for a gen x president is newsom but there are others. tulsi is a xillennial.

2) gen x has a very high level of combined emotional and financial dysfunction due to being raised by feckless divorcing boomer parents and starting adulthood during the 90s recession. I'm interested to see how this plays out in a society that increasingly supports people in a very healthy old age. I think a lot of people in my generation are going to have a second act, especially people who spent their 20s and 30s in active addiction and their 40s getting their shit back together. a lot of my generation were checked the fuck out and are checking back in.

I'm not so sure this is muslim-driven, though they do benefit. I've said it before, and I'll doubtlessly say it again, but I'm firmly convinced +50% of anti-jew sperging on the interbutts is done by the jews themselves in order to discredit and make seem ridiculous their opposition.
Did you miss the /pol/ leaks where a huge amount of traffic is from Israel?

Millenials are either coastal theater kids or blackshirt chuds but at least they're not mopey losers.
You're mixing up Gen X and Millennials, aka Gen Y. Gen X was the generation prior.

I don't understand why it's not easily recyclable anymore. Can you elaborate? I'm not arguing, I don't know anything about it really but caught that video above a few years ago and it seemed relatively straight forward.
Ran heavy equipment many moons ago. I have some experience with recycling.

It's not that it's not "Easily recyclable". It is. It's just that it's cost prohibitive.

99% of recycling in the West is done by private companies. Very few governments have their own actual facilities, staffed with government employees and machinery. So most material handling is contracted out to corporations that do. Think the big ones; Waste Management, BFI, Waste Connections, GFL, and a few others.

It's just that glass is worth essentially nothing.

In it's base form, glass is just sand. Breaking it down, gathering it, shipping it and then crafting it into a new product all costs money. And that cost is more than manufacturers and suppliers could pay to simply use new glass. So most recycling companies will just throw it in landfills.

Even so called "green" governments will admit they outsource most basic recycling to the private sector, who then still have to make a profit to survive. So they only recycle material that actually makes them money. Everything else gets thrown into the trash.

I could go on, but that's the jist of it.

I won't go so far as autistically quoting Lord Of the Rings about Ents waking up, but it kind of feels that way to an extent. Those of us who survived the Opiate wave or were otherwise able to pull back on the stick with our vices and get our heads on straight are finding out there's not much left standing in our way, so long as we're not fucked by taking care of our parents now AND our children at the same time.

The George W. Bush-Adolf Hitler comparisons are funny to look back at in retrospect.

Democrat supporters have been saying Republican candidates or presidents are Hitler for a long time now.

With the way things are going I'm looking forward to Barron Trump being a Democratic darling in the 2040s-2060s

I'd imagine every modern president since Nixon has been called a fascist just by the nature of socialists being the faggots they are.
