All of my dudes were levels ~14 and I didn't bother with lumina upgrades or weapon upgrades,
Well, if it makes you feel better, even 10 levels after you can still get one shot on a bad roll, but you'll have a lot more damage to dish back.

Is it worth to back up and explore a bit more? Because the next story area looks like it might ramp up in difficulty.
Yeah.
Before going into Ancient Battlefield, swim around with Esquie and explore and fight overmap encouters. You get lots of goodies, from pictos to items to music for your camp.
I would avoid areas with DANGER written on them, before you go in. Mark those and come back later.

im legit retarded and im putting whatever. just now im learning that you can mix match things. AAAA movie game slop destroyed my gaming skills

Some may seem basic and obvious, but here's some stuff I learned.
1. Use your consumables, they replenish
2. Buy all Lumina from vendors
3. Explore every inch, like an autistic rat
4. Use pictos for stat boost and Lumina for effects, even if some are pricey.
5. It's always worth it to buff and debuff
6. AP gain is king, focus on this, from Lumina to items to skills
7. Focus your Lumina on 3 characters. Sure, you can spare some for the others, but 80% of it should be for your main niggers
8. Build stats around your weapon of choice. They have a stat and it's scaling, and you get bonus damage from both.
9. Don't neglect Vitality and Defence and damage mitigation effects. You will get hit eventually, and it's good to at least not die from a hit like a bitch
10. Free Aim is good and has lots of cheap pictos for it. Use it to snipe enemy weak spots. Some enemies are cheeky little shits, and what I thought was a weak point, was some bullshit, where if shot, gave every enemy a shield.
11. Watch the weapon swing. Dodge and parry when it moves towards you. Don't shoot your load too early.
12. When healing, unless it's the AoE heal from Lune, don't bother. Pop an elixir because it's simply better.
13.Sciel is a dirty gypsy, but holy shit, does she do a lot of damage. Being a racist gamer ain't easy bros.
14. Games saves on every change, so if you want to force a save and no flag is around, just change a wardrobe or something

Is there any missable side content at the very start of Act 2? Now that I can explore the seas I've been crawling around the goddamn place like a rat getting pummled by bosses that are probably 30-40 levels higher than me. I'm convinced I can beat that one damage check dungeon where the walls are closing in at base level but you have to literally play perfect and I'm going to have to respec Lune and !Dante to get through it. I feel like I have OCD exploring every single possible nook and cranny of this worldmap, it's great. This is what video games are all about.

HOLY FUCK THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS BEATS RUNNING BACK AND FORTH SO MUCH.

I think this is one of the few RPGs where EVERYONE is good, I've been spreading my lumina evenly amongst my dudes and they've all been consistently strong overall. Maelle is the main outlier but that's because she's meant to be a glass cannon so of course she's gonna overperform in damage.

Just go check everywhere you can, and avoid the areas with DANGER that shows at the entrance. I also scoured every nook and cranny, wherever I could go, and only after, did I progress to main objective.
As for that encounter, I had no issues with it, but that's because I had Maelle go first, and she had the skill that destroys all the shields. Makes it easier. Also, stack Burn on that nigger.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, most of my Lumina goes into main team, and the second team gets a few only.
Right now, I'm running with the B team and beating trash encounters, so they can level up and catch up. I roll out the A team only for bosses that require it.
There are pictos and Lumina that give powerful bonuses, if you run solo and this helps the B team, until the second member joins.
Speaking of the second member, Monoco is really fun and a true wild card. You're actually incentivized to roam with him, because he gets "skills" from beating other monsters.

Gonna double post, like a nigger. I do apologize though.

I've spent an entire MATI episode (listening to Josh ramble about trannies while I was in Camp), just fiddling with stats, weapons, pictos, Lumina and whatnot, to make something really sweaty for Lune and Verso.
The above clip is the end result.

Honestly an absolutely fantastic fight, one of my favourites in the game. The rematch later is even better imo.

The only thing I hate about him is the vanish timing, I can't get it down no matter what and it completely cripples my team.

It really is.
That was my first attempt and I had no idea what I was dealing with.
You can see this at 0:01, when he grabs Maelle and I'm panic rolling like a sped.

I was fucking around on some yellow Quarry when i meet a Big ass boss. The fight was hard and he wiped out my team. Maelle came as last reason and won the fight with a parry. I love this game
There's another boss there, that is a lot more fun then the big mud golem.
Also, dead members get less XP and it's better to resurrect asap before boss dies or try the fight again
Up to you.

The beach volleyball minigame is the final boss, I swear. Holy shit, I cannot get the timing down for reflect the flying babies.

I know its optional and I don't have to do it, but I won't be defeated by retarded rocks and their jihadist infants.

I fought the one who enters crashing the pirate ships. There is another one?
Yes.
From the zone where you fought him, there's a path to the right (i think), then you find a hole and you can jump down.
A Chromatic nigger is there.

That's the spirit!
Try it enough times and you get some lucky rolls. I beat with 80% luck and 20% skill and 100% yelling "die you flying faggots!" at my screen.
I even posted the video here.

I haven't entered Monocos station yet, but I just unlocked the ability to smash those rocks. How much of a waste of time is it to double back and hunt for those rocks?

Worth it.
First area has two good pictos, Flying Waters you can skip (has a lumina stone only), Tard Village has good stuff (weapon and hidden area) and the area with cliffs (forgot name) has a Chromatic Boss that raped me silly. Marked for later payback.

For the life of me cant reach that fucking place on the beach for the bikinis
Oh, the racing track?
Hahahah.
Take it slow and keep trying. It's actually the easiest one and most fun imo.
And has the best bikini for Lune.

I've been so intrigued with the story that I haven't done a ton of exploring besides the main maps that the story tunnels you through. Maybe I'll circle back the next time I'm in the open world again.

That's how I've gotten through most of the game: copious amounts of slurs. The worst ones are when I get the life or death parry successfully, have a brief "fuck yeah!" moment, and immediately get slapped by the follow-up attack. I'll be damned if it's not fun, even if I am terrible at it.

Cleaning up stuff before what I assume is the last boss and I've been having fun rolling Monoco stacked as a suicide bomber buffer. Battle starts and he explodes for damage, procs burn, hits the rest of the team with +AP and shield, and then the second chance picto brings him back. Probably better ideas but it's pretty funny and immediately puts the rest of the team at 9 AP on turn one.

I just want to say that I am really impressed someone actually managed to develop such a creative, fun game with an intriguing and touching story without adding pointless DEI into it. Maybe I missed some hints or dialogues somewhere, but there was nothing obvious shouting CURRENT YEAR. I even find the humorous interactions cute and funny instead of the typical ironic quip meme humor you get usually.

Haven't looked into possible coping and seething because the game seems to be a huge hit without pushing diversity checkboxes, but maybe nobody wants to go and outright say "game sucks because no uglies and trannies!" Youtube did suggest a video to me about how people are desperately trying to find minor flaws ("they keep saying it was only made by 30 people but there are so many more who contributed!" yeah no shit, but you don't need 2h credits to create a good game) and some game jorno scum gave it a lower score "because the genre doesn't appeal to everyone" (pretty sure they gave Wokeguard raving reviews).
