What makes it worse is you've got older generations saying it.
I feel like an old fuddy duddy bitching about the kids slang, but at least the previous generations slang made sense and you could understand it. If someone saw something swell or pleasant and they said "cool!" or "wicked!" or "rad!" you knew it was a good thing
Even fucking "groovy" or "tubular!" would be step up. But "tubular" is a three syllable word and that confuses and frustrates niggers zoomers

Zoomers are incapable of inventing slang. They either steal old slang and retune it or they just smash their heads into the keyboard until they come up with something "Original". FGJKTRUGJFSDndzf means "Damn girl! That's a stylish purse".

FOMO.

What they mean is "poor self control". But if you put a cutesy, recognizable term on it then it's "relatable" and people use it as an excuse to act like idiots.

"Tee hee, I HAD to spend money I didn't have on that useless trinket; I had FOMO!".

I see this more often in a pejorative light. People complain about limited time bullshit like "seasons" in video games to pressure players into everyday sessions (or pay for advancement).

I.e "fuck this FOMO shit."

Died by suicide. Because "committed suicide" is language simply too direct and uncomfortable for the soft shitheads of the modern era.

"Crash Out" is a new one that is already making me mad. A lot of these new zoomer terms feel like some cabal of streamers got approached by glowies to force some new phrase. At least weird terms that come out of 4chan/sharty/etc make some kind of sense and have a clear etymology and sometimes even a traceable history. "Crash Out" (seemingly meaning "to ragequit"?) doesn't even make sense.

Vernacular used to get around draconian speech policies on mainstream platforms slowly slipping into common parlance fucking pisses me off, like referring to suicide as "self-unaliving". It's infantalising and, may God forgive me for using this word, insensitive.

"PDF file" instead of pedophile. Same as unalive, grape, sewerslide, all these replacements that come about due to social media censorship but then get used even when censorship isn't necessary, as well as ruin normal perceptions of those words.
Seeing this reddit comment is what prompted me to post about it here, though I've been thinking it for a while.

dumbassery. buffoonery, even.

WE ARE SO BACK!!

Back from what? This falls apart when it is used by an individual who assumes they're a strong representative of a group.

Censorship Overload

I am noticing the ongoing trend where rape, abuse, drugs wound up being censored so it looks like r*pe, a**se, d**gs. I first noticed this when watching police bodycam videos and spineless channel owners censoring the words (may be because of the youtube rules, yes I know). It doesn't make it less annoying to see. I hate it when people try to control what words and expressions we use that better articulate what we're trying to say. I'm not going to say shit like "oh she was...fondled inappropriately" or something. No, she was raped and that's a cold hard fact, deal with it.

Over-Abbreviating Everything

Abbreviations are more appropriate when names, terms .etc are exaggerated and long. But people have been using them for shorter terms, like KYS = Kill YourSelf. But wait that doesn't even make fucking sense, because how can anyone just abbreviate a part of a word? Just say it directly at that point, you cowardly asshole. Anyone who does this should kill themselves.

Oh it's so much worse than you know. As a chronically online zoomer I've witnessed some horrors. Actually I see all kinds of stupid things said by my peers. Abbreviations, unnecessary censorship, tone tags/indicators etc etc (don't even get me started on genderspecial neopronoun crap, made up sexualities, brainrot, kins and kinnies, mbti, therians, systems and alters, trigger warnings, c! and cc!, eeeeetttccccccccccccc....) • bsf - best friend (no more bff...)

God theres a bunch. "Let him cook" is one that I really hate especially when applied to media thats going to be terrible. "Based" or "cringe" are buzzwords that reek of an inability to convey opinions in any sincere or semi-intelligent way.
