Yes, the "Chinese" food we get in the US is not real. I was fortunate to have a real experience at a Chinese restaurant where a Han co-woker ordered off the secret menu. Nothing too exotic as Chinese will eat everything that moves, but still interesting. I have also had former Indian co-workers explain the various styles of cuisine as I tried them out. Unfortunately, without people who know at restaurants run by the correct natives, it's difficult for most to experience the authentic styles.

Yeah, ages ago our local Chinese place got closed down because someone found the dog carcasses in the freezer. They swore (owner literally printed an article in the paper) that the dogs were just for the worker menu, never sold to customers or used in the buffet.

Which I believe, because I can't imagine dog is more economical than chicken. They probably imported it too, since every dog in our area is pumped to the gills with anti-parasite drugs due to all the mosquitos.

They also had some rabbit meat and some of those aggressive Asian bass the Chinese stocked all the ponds and ditches with before the EPA banned them for being an invasive species.

And that’s a good thing.

Most “authentic” food sucks and is peasant slop. Only a handful of countries have ever developed a formal culinary culture.
Yeah, worst part of being in Cancun wasn't random teens throwing eggs at us, it was trying to find decent food without just going to a McDonald's (which was even worse there than they are here). The hotel had free food every evening, all authentic Mexican dishes. It wasn't all terrible, but just peasant food, and some really tough beef cut I couldn't identify. Bland as all hell.

The menudo was probably okay, but I never liked the texture of hominy and tripe isn't my thing.

Only thing better than the American version is the tortillas themselves, and I suspect that's mostly from being freshly made more than anything. Maybe a better grind for the corn.

And for all the bitching American's get for not getting other cultures' foods correct, the Mexicans can't cook an edible hamburger or french fries to save their lives. The pizza was pretty good though, but it's hard to fuck up pizza without being Californian.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says the American dream isn't 'let them eat flat-screens' or 'cheap baubles from China' — says Trump is focused on mortgages, cars, real wage gains

Honestly, I think he's right, everyone should be buying Cathode Ray Tube TVs rather than "flat screens," as he so helpfully calls them. I'm sure that will cause the price of houses and cars to drop.

It might surprise you to find out that Bessent is a baby boomer. I was certainly surprised.
He is completely correct in what he's saying. The actual boomer opinion, that I have had the joy of hearing from my father many times, is that we should all be grateful to globohomo for affordable smart TVs, phones and plastic garbage, aka shit we don't need, instead of worrying too much about car and home prices.

Three methods. The hidden one would be to give us back replaceable batteries but they don't want to do that because it would mean people didn't have to upgrade their otherwise perfectly serviceable phones.

Though they'll say it's because they need it to make their phones thinner. You know what? I'm a guy - I don't care if my phone is 15mm thick. In fact, I'd like that.
Four methods. Buy a battery pack and never unplug your phone. I've been doing that for a solid decade now, and it's honestly never been a problem.

First of all, how doez her wife's "conduct" negate the fact Garcia was never given his right to due process?
Due process does not mean a 10 month long jury trial, it means 'the process that is due'. A full jury trial and conviction is not part of the 'due process' afforded or appropriate to the person and the circumstances, in this case an illegal alien in immigration court determining his deportation status. He had his day in court with an attorney on this matter, he was able to appeal the matter, and it was upheld. That is the end of it, there is no more judicial review available.

As an illegal alien, he was entitled to a hearing with representation before an immigration judge. At this hearing, it was found that he was a member of MS-13, this is known as a judicial finding of fact. This was a finding by the immigration judge supported by sufficient evidence, was able to be challenged by Garica/his attorney, was appealed to the relevant court, and that determination was upheld. The docket is listed here, you'll find these documents attached as part of the initial finding.

The process that is due to an illegal alien was given to him, and appropriate to the context.

You have to remember also, 'due process' also does not mean 'he gets to have as many court cases as he wants in front of whatever judge he wants until he gets a favorable outcome', which is what the media keeps crowing about.

My own personal conspiracy theory that I believe in is that climate change was a psyop created by the Chinese in order to weaken America and the rest of the world. Think about it in the us you were told for years that “cow farts was destroying the earth” or “eating meat was destroying the earth” well china never had any of that they were allowed to build coal plants and pollute the ocean for decades. I've had some one tell me that it was alright for china to not follow through on the climate change stuff because they have more people than us, whitch is retarted once you think about for 5 minutes.

My personal conspiracy theory is that the climate change propaganda is an attempt to lower standards of living globally now that Communism is no longer a real threat. The idea is that the government encouraged maximum extraction and production in order to provide a quality of life that was as high as possible in order to show superiority over communism during the cold war. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and now the elimination nearly all former Soviet allies, the guys running the levers don't need to compete as much, so they're training the population to settle for less.

Think of it like the Berlin airlift. We kept it going for as long as it was necessary, but once the blockade was over, we stopped. Essentially, the Boomers' entire lives were a PR operation.

Re: phone talk, Eric Prince's Unplugged phone has made a whole lot of improvements over the past year. It's pretty solid now, and the battery lasts nearly 2x as long as iOS or Droid because it's not constantly spying on you.

You know, when you intentionally pretend to miss his point you really come across as a redditor. Have you been fitted for a burger suit yet?

He's not talking about smart TVs though. He's talking about flat screens.

Explain his point to me (that I pretended to miss) like I'm a Redditor (which I obviously am). It will greatly improve this thread.

China is threatening consequences for anyone that makes a deal with the USA that is against Chinese interests?

So much for the friendly facade. There's the China I know: lacking in confidence and scared.
Is this China's final warning?

One of the most detrimental consequences of the stagflationary surge in the US since 2020 was the meteoric rise in housing prices, from rentals to purchases to mortgages, across all markets. At present the cost of housing stands at around 30% of the average American's income, with home prices and rentals seeing at least a 60% increase in only 5 years. In high traffic markets the prices have jumped far higher.

Inflation in fixed expenses like housing, utilities, gasoline, food, etc. directly reduce disposable income which forces consumers to cut back on retail and recreational purchases. Higher prices in retail goods can be weathered through savings and spending adaptation, higher prices in fixed expenses is much more difficult to deal with and the results are hard to miss.

There may, however, be a light at the end of the tunnel with new developments suggesting a decline in housing costs is on the way.

The US Existing Home Inventory is back on the rise after hitting rock bottom in 2022, with a considerable jump occurring in the year (February numbers indicate a 17% jump since 2024). This is partially because incredibly high prices driving down purchases, but recent events indicate that the inventory trend is going to accelerate in 2025.

Foreign Buyers Exiting The US Market

One of the first actions of the Biden Administration in the face of the housing crisis should have been to enact a moratorium on foreign purchases of US properties. This didn't happen, of course, but the tides may be shifting in favor of US buyers in the near term/

Canadian real estate investors and "Snow Birds" using secondary properties in the US as vacation homes are now reportedly selling off their holdings in light of the Trump Administration's tariff blitz. America's socialist neighbors to the north are apparently cashing out at record pace. Oddly, Canadian property owners say they're "afraid of anti-Canadian sentiment" in the US as the reason for dumping their second homes. The US and foreign media have these people terrified that there's a wave of "Canadian hate" rolling through the American heartland.

This isn't happening, but on the bright side this frees up a considerable number of homes for the US market and will ultimately help to lower prices. Canadians are the largest foreign property buyers, taking up at least 13% of all home purchases in the US in 2024.

It's not just Canadians exiting, though. Chinese and European buyers are backing off with some states moving to block property purchases by foreign interests and hysteria over America-first nationalism frightening prospective investors. Ultimately, this is a net positive for Americans desperate for some relief in a home market that the vast majority of citizens cannot afford.

Deportations And Falling Rental Prices

It may be true that most illegal aliens don't buy houses, but they certainly take a massive bite out of available rentals. With an estimate 17 million to 20 million illegals in the US at the time Joe Biden left the White House and a shortage of at least 11 million houses as of 2024, the obvious solution would be to kick out as many migrants as possible to free up the rental market.

This may have already begun. Trump border restrictions and changes to immigration policy have been wildly successful in cutting illegal border crossing. In March, Border Patrol reported a 95% drop in encounters on the southern border, an epic decline from the Biden Administration. ICE also reports that they have deported at least 100,000 and arrested 13,000 others since Trump took office. Some skeptics might argue that this is nowhere near enough, but it does not account for the millions of migrants that are self deporting.

At least 900,000 migrants that entered the US under Biden's CBP One App have been ordered to self deport are or be arrested in the coming months. US rental prices have been cooling for the past year, but much too slowly. The drop in housing demand by illegals is expected to create a larger availability pool by the end of 2025, though some leftist media outlets assert that the loss of illegals will cause a decline in home construction and hurt the market instead.

Airbnb Bonanza Fizzles And Opens The Market To 2 million Homes

The Airbnb craze has been dying for at least the past two years. High property taxes, declining revenues, skyrocketing insurance rates and a drop in tourism means the potential for profits is getting slimmer by the month. With over 2.4 million homes listed as Airbnb rentals in the US right now, there's a good chance these properties will end up for sale or as long term rentals by the end of 2025.

The overall trend is deflationary, which is likely to scare a lot of people, but without this is necessary for any return to affordability in housing. Supply must increase in order to offset demand. Unless there are some dramatic changes soon, millions of Americans may be priced out of a home entirely.

Boomers were able to buy large plots of land with McMansions on them for 2 grapes and a paperclip while living the best years of their lives in a high trust 90-80% white country, and now that they're retired and being subsidized by the taxes paid by their broke children who would have to win the lottery to afford a house 1/2 as nice as theirs, they want to import 1 billion wetbacks and ship every job off over seas to be done by slave labor so they can get cheep luxury shit, and if you suggest that this is unsustainable or wrong in any way you're the ungrateful one who doesn't care about or respect your elders.

boomers are the literal most entitled generation to ever exist and will be remembered forever as the worst generation. they are a caricature of greedy, amoral materialism and it's no wonder so many young people are sympathetic to dead systems like communism or fascism, because "liberal democracy™" offers them nothing and will likely die with the boomers.

I haven't seen this posted yet. William Kirk of Washington Gun Law has been tracking multiple cases against lib states gun control bills and their progress through the courts in an attempt to repeal them. Snope v. Brown and Ocean State Tactical v. Rhode Island were being followed with great interest as they are due for the Supreme Courts docket, and yet, neither of which have been accepted, again. The Supreme Court continues to ignore cases that could actually restore rights that are being stripped away without any recourse. Here's the video on his watch party from earlier this morning checking to see if any of those cases would be heard

Justice Roberts is a fucking nigger bought and paid for by the establishment.

Meanwhile they’re willing to issue emergency orders for leftist cases despite them not having worked their way up through the system.

The Supreme Court is 7-2 liberal.
