Depends, this could potentially revive Non-Amazon American shopping. If you can't order an expensive made in Germany product online, you either buy American, pay double for the Chinese version, or need to buy it from an American store who's imported it.

China now has more engineers of various types than USA and companies were exploring moving manufacturing out of China and into other countries (Vietnam, India, Mexico, and even Africa) specifically to SAVE on labor costs. The BOM includes packing and R+D in most projects, you recoup the costs of R+D which is calculated in the creation of the product, in the same way that you add labour and overheads (Energy cost+Building utilities and insurance etc). It's clear you've never costed a product or project before. Only transport/logistics/shipping is added after the fact as that fluctuates depending on type of transport; land, air, sea and delivery time, I.E. do they want it now or are they happy with the X weeks shipping time?

As for R+D with Apple, it's already been done with every previous phone. The cost to the new development of R+D is a constant cost and budgeted for every year. The department doesn't just do 1 phone, it will work on a multitude of products and that cost for the budget is split between the unit price of those products, past, present and future.

I guess I just dismissed it because I figured maybe I was mistaking it for something else, but is this really the same 50501 I'm thinking of from earlier this year? I remember it being a fucking joke where not even Redditors were taking it seriously. They tried desperately to get traction and got nowhere, but now I'm seeing this group attached to this shit like a brand.

Who the fuck is funding this?

They had a protest in my city a few weeks ago. A few dozen boomers turned out.

They had another protest at the same spot yesterday. Only one person showed up.

They're pathetic.

The fact that they got rid of all the USAID funding means that all of these protests amount to fuck all, and it's amusing to watch.
