What’s your idea of a date?

Perhaps when you get a new girlfriend, you should make sure to find a happy medium. What do you both enjoy?

Let’s say, for example, you both like elephants because God likes elephants. In that case, if doable, take her to a reputable zoo that you can find so you can see elephants in person.

Or, if she’s athletic then a bike ride through the local park is a simple yet romantic idea. Even “normal” people have hobbies that you may find enjoyable.

Just regular stuff like movies or a walk in the park. Not a lot to do around here anyway. Most people I've met outside of my comfort zone are into the same games and pastimes, but you'd barely know it. Hard to connect when someone won’t look up from their phone or engage like a human being. Had no problems walking out on some dates who were rude like that.

Dude, as a True Honest Female. Many of the friends I made in gaming/anime was because I actually left my house and went to events. Yeah, the cringey ones, that become a joke on the internet. I just went, ignored the retards and met some people that I really like to this day, some from almost 10 years ago.

It's easier to engage when there's something in common. I've been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years now, our first conversation was about the bands we liked and while I was sperging about what I knew, he was asking questions. The thing here is to stop expecting a script in a conversation. Go with the flow. Ask questions. Try to know the other person. You might end with a friend, which is good. If you end with a lover, it's better. But the more experience you have with other humans, the better, Just live, man. These people you walked out because you didn't feel they were right, do you miss them? Your life without them is worse than with them?

I know that nowadays it's hard to know someone who isn't glued to their phones 24/7, but those people exist.
You are never truly alone. I say this for everyone in this forum. There's always someone to match your freak.

Dude we are from different countries and cultures but yeah. There might be. Keep yourself optimist but don't expect what you want for yourself from everyone you meet.
Life is short but it's also the longest thing you will ever experience. Instead of focusing in one thing that you feel that you're failing in (and in reality you might not even be failing, you just feel that you do because of pressure of others), just experience it man. Just live. Taste things. Live and breathe.

You want someone to do those things for you, but what can you give in return? I am not talking about monetary things, you don't need to be rich, but are you available to be understanding, to engage, to treat your significant other as a person and not as concept?

Oh, no, I don't really have these difficulties. I still don't have much romantic experience, but in my personal life I don't have too much trouble interacting with women in a non-niggerly way. I would like to think I learned most of the important parts of that already.

People in general tend to vaguely like me but I'm not exactly putting myself fully "out there" yet either, so I'd rather blame it on that.

Nah man, if you can interact in a not creepy way, one day it might happen. Just don't be creepy and spergy about it. Just live and enjoy the conversations, you can learn so many valuable things. Have friendships, connections and a community around yourself.

If you see someone that you're interested and might lead to something serious, maybe it's worthy it to do something more. Gestures, attention and stuff. Think about how you'd want to be treated. But like I said. Just live your life, in time the things you dream of will come your way if you aren't a shitlord.

Damn, don't kill me, I just thought it would be nicer to put in the effort and get her a physical gift, it would feel condescending to just give her money in a "take this and go make yourself pretty" way.

I also much preferer getting actual gifts. And I think she'd be happy if you get her anything, even if it's not exactly what she wants. But I think if you already spend the money it's better if it's something she will actually use. Maybe taking her shopping and she can just pick what she wants and you go eating out afterwards would be a good compromise? That way you don't just give her money and you can actually see what she likes and talk about it without it being forced. That way you know what to get her the next time!

To clarify, the "low effort gift" is the experience of shopping in a pretty store, an aspirational one for social media makeup aficionados. Bitching about the suggestions strangers will give you here being "low-effort" is stupid considering you're asking random strangers for ready-made ideas that apply to the whole female hivemind and getting mati instead of making the effort to talk to and get to know what she wants, because listening to what she likes is ew icky girlstuff (but she listens to you talk about your autistic fixations and hobbies for hours).
