Yes. , there was no mistake. This guy was determined by the immigration courts and the appeals courts (with a lawyer, full due process, etc) to be in the US illegally, and to be a member of MS-13. He was given a lawful final deportation order in 2019. When he was given his final deportation order he whined to the Court, that as a gangbanger himself, he was scared of a rival gang killing him if he went back to El Salvado. The court did him a favor and issued an 'order of withholding' which limits his deportation order to any country other than El Salvador. HOWEVER, after this order, MS-13 was declared a designated terrorist organization and members of such groups are not eligible for this dispensation. At the point when MS-13 was so declared (back in Febuary), the order of withholding was invalidated, as members of that group (as he was judicially adjudicated to be) are not eligible for this 'favor' in withholding.

Nothing was improper in his deportation. He was sent back to his country of origin/citizenship, and his own government is holding him there in prison for crimes he committed there. We basically extradited him to El Salvador, essentially. All the drama is made up manufactured outrage by the TDS judge and media.

All the bitching I see about illegals being sent to El Salvador seems to ignore that the country is very near a lot of other countries. If it's found that some of the immigrants came from Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico, Costa Rica, it would be a shorter distance to send them to the right place from El Salvador than from the middle of the USA.
To my ignorant lil' potato brain sending the Hispanic ones there for holding until they confirm a country of origin isn't the worst idea ever.

How are we supposed to get him back? We don't have any jurisdiction over him because he is back in his home country of El Salvador, he isn't an American citizen and he wasn't here legally on a visa either so we have no reason to get involved with him. Even if we wanted him back, what are we supposed to do if El Salvador says no?

I don't think it is technically correct that he was determined to be a member of MS-13, just that it is a reliable source that says he is, and that was believed. I don't know if he, as an illegal alien, would require any more than that to be deemed a MS-13 member? IANAL

I don't remember reading about how he said that he was fearing for his life because he was a gangbanger. It was a very elaborate story about his mother having a business that thrived in the community, and they refused to pay protection money and thus were harassed out of the town and country. Iirc he says that the same gang would kill him if he went back (I guess if this story is true, and the gang had by now forgotten, they were surely reminded!)

Interestingly, at the time of his first contact with US police, he reported that he did not fear for his safety about returning to El Salvador.
