Some women just don't have the emotional and intellectual wherewithal to make it in the labour market. Back in ye olden days, they'd seek to marry well, have children and be a stay-at-home mom.
The opportunities to do this today are few and far between. I think April took one look at Kayla and thought 'That bitch is living the dream, I want me some of that too. I don't care if I have to share him, the life of cocaine, podcasts and parties is the life for me.'
Of course, if she'd had any moral or ethical principles, or even if she wasn't just a flat out moron, she'd see that these people were as far from happy as it's possible to get, but we have to make the best of the talents that we're given. April's talents were a metabolism that didn't pile the pounds on and a willingness to put out when necessary to get what she wanted in life.
I can't hold that against her. Of course, I'd never tolerate such a shallow, grasping, lazy whore in my own life, but there's no shortage of men who'd give a woman like that bed space. For a couple of weeks, at least. In Aaron, she'd found a man who was willing to tolerate it -- and cut her a cheque for $4k a month, just to hang around.
