Recent guitar chat from la principessa reveals something important about his playing and the advantages of the headless Strandberg Fusion.

He doesn’t tune his fucking guitar.

This is the PRS Special 22 that he sold in 2023. These things cost over eight grand new, btw, so note how much he played it.

That guitar finish looks like the sort of thing you’d find in the SRS thread. No wonder he only played it for 10 hours, at a cost of approximately $800+ an hour.

If he’s thinking of selling the Les Paul then it is so over. He adores this gaudy thing to the extent of having claimed it would be the one guitar he’d grab if there were a fire, IIRC.

I don't hate or wish harm on Dave, but I do fucking hate that hideous green Les Paul. I hope it gets Culturally Enriched and smashed into firewood while Dave is forced to watch.

For someone who claims to be an artist, Dave has no aesthetic sense at all. That horrible LP double doublecut and that radioactively-coloured Strandberg are as offensive on the eyes as Dave himself. The only genuinely beautiful guitar he's ever owned was that PRS, which he never played and quickly sold. Pound for Pound, a PRS is a vastly superior guitar in every way to any post-2005 Gibson at the same price bracket, and for $8000 you would get a PRS that shits all over anything in the Gibson catalogue.

Dave has no artistic taste in any sense, which is apparent when you hear his playing. It's all meandering aimless noodling with no phrasing or dynamics.

And if he hasn't even tuned his guitar in months, that means he hadn't changed the strings either, despite regularly taking it outside and playing several gigs. Those strings must be at least 50% rust by now.

"First is a trans woman (me) being womanly..." :story:

I applaud Dave for continuing his absolute zero effort “transition” larp so publicly. He keeps doubling down on the level of delusion they expect people to swallow with all this identity acceptance bullshit. Literally no real woman would go out in public looking like this, unless they were being rushed to the ER.

And I have to say, as gross and goblinesque as Dave looks here, it’s way less creepy than when he was wearing Old Navy dresses and man-handsing cheap lipstick all over his face. Imagine him playing shows in actual girl-drag, with heels and low cut dresses showing off his feminine chest hair? We can all be thankful he’s embraced his tomboy style lol

Dave ran into his guitar teacher from his teenage years. I wonder how the teacher reacted when he heard, "I go by Danielle now." Dave reflects on his career as a musician, claims he's "played for crowds as big as 15,000," and considers his guitar an extension of his body.

So, this is the deaf and blind man that taught Dave everything he knows about guitar...

Also, calling what he does on stage "playing" is being entirely too generous.

I absolutely also guarantee when he says "earned a living as a musician" he means when he was literally a broke hobo without a dime to his name before he moved home to harass his parents.

At least he correctly identifies how annoying he is with bringing his fucking Strandberg everywhere he goes.

If he plays as much as he says he does, and displays this level of "talent" it proves that he literally has less talent than the average dog at playing guitar.

The teacher's head didn't used to be only half as wide as Dave's. During the seventh lesson... something... happened.

For me the nicest Dave guitar was the Jerry Kennedy Gibson ES-335 he had.
It is a ES-335 with replicas of the home made B and E benders that Jerry built on his guitar.
It was used on Roy Orbison's Oh, Pretty Woman and a about a million other hits.

I am a huge fan of Jerry Kennedy both as a player and a producer.
Jerry produced great albums by Roger Miller, Tom T. Hall and The Statler Brothers among others.

I can't help but wonder did Dave know any of that?
Did he care?
He strikes me as the type to call County music and its fans istaphobes.

If you don't care about the connection to Jerry Kennedy it would be much cheaper to buy a regular ES-335 and put 2 benders on it.

I can't help but think Dave's method of guitar shopping is go in to his local shop and buy the most expensive thing they have.

That is the only thing a hideous green LP double cut, the headless Whatchamacallit and a Jerry Kennedy ES-335 have in common.

It really captured that AGP smile.

I beg to differ. Look at the corners of the mouth. The illustration has them going up, like a genuine smile. Dave is smirking - the central part of the mouth mimics a smile, but the corners are downturned. It’s one of the reasons he looks so unsettling, even when not dressed as a woman - he doesn’t manage a genuine, warm smile that lifts his face.

It does however capture the cat’s terror quite well.
